Question about Island Dolls~

I've been meaning to get a thinner elastic, just haven't gotten to it yet. ^__^' after a-kon I will be able to spend my money on stuff they need.
She also couldn't sit up straight either D=< it was the most frustrating thing. It wasn't noticeable when she was alone, but VERY noticeable next to my other girls. She just seemed so far back and sometimes she flopped backwards... of course sueding helped A LOT and now she can sit up straight

On the Denver Doll Emporium Island Doll Tab that have some sweet little tiny elves called Leshe or Leshy or something. They are so cute and I like the Pionk and Blue skin tones they show. I really like DDE. They are easy to work with and have great service. I didn't like the info on the Island Dolls site either and I found the info about them on DDE much better.

I actually had a hard time with DDE I ordered a 7/8 leekeworld wig and when i got it, it was REALLY big... so i messaged them about it and they said try a wig cap, though i already told them i was already using one, i told them again. They said then the wig should be fine. CLEARLY IT WAS NOT FINE. i would think, me being the one actually looking at it, i would know what im talking about. so i sent them a picture that showed how big it was.... they said it looked fine =___= the wig itself was ok, but the part that goes around the head was huge >.> so since then i refuse to shop with them agian.
sucks cause i wanted a doll from fairyland... but i guess ill just have to pay the outrageous shipping when i get down that road

Wow. I'm sorry to hear this about DDE. I have not had any trouble with them at all. If I had had your experience I would feel the same.

I'm afraid I can't be of any help for figuring the ordering system from the company website. The resin isn't regular urethane resin, it's environmental resin, which has more translucence. The posing on the 1/6 dolls is wonderful. Viviana, my Island Doll Jessie, is the best BJD for posing out of my crew. In addition to being double-jointed, the upper arms and thighs rotate.

160$ is for the blank doll, without face up, eyes or wig. It's the head attached to the body, with a birth card (certificate of authenticity) and the doll box.

I found this post intriguing. I've never heard the term "Environmental Resin" and wondered, besides the translucence you mention, are there other differences bewteen the resins. Is Environmental resin one of the resins that does not amber or color shift in UV? My wicker porch furniture, for example, is resin. I have had it out in the bright morning sun for over 10 years and there has been NO fading or color shifting. No yellowing or ambering.

Are these Islandolls made of something like that?

Since I've only had my IslandDoll for less than a year, the only difference I've noticed between her and my urethane dolls is the translucent quality.
Another type of resin is French resin, which is also translucent and supposedly has a natural, life-like glow. The downside to French resin is it yellows notoriously quickly.

I've been kinda wanting one from their Wind line, but was wondering if the look would be too different to fit in.

Actually That helps ALOT! I saw some French Resin dolls and they were pretty, but I will avoid them for this reason. Fairyland doesn't seem to be yeollowing at all for me, I've had one of my dolls for over a year, but the shades are drawn in my doll room and my dolls do have several coats of MSC UVCut so maybe thats slowing it down. I don't mind a LITTLE gradual yellowing but some of the older resin dolls I have seen have turned a VERY orangey dark yellow where there skin was exposed to light. Sounds like French Resin is headed there so I don't think it matters what it looks like when you buy it as that color sounds like it won't last long anyway.

I think you should go for it, if you like the doll.
Dolls have an uncanny knack for playing well together despite their differences.

They are not NEARLY as persnickety as their human counterparts and I think they actually ENJOY the variations in their Kin.

Why not ask your current doll family what THEY think (I do this all the time!)

Did someone say Island Dolls? I own several of them. I don't know about anyone elses, but mine are good posers once they were restrung and sueded. My Wallis, Jerrica, is the best of my bunch, and definitely my favorite:

If you're considering one, I would go through either MOC or DDE -- the company website is pretty confusing. And for those who asked about the resin difference, here's a comparison of Island Doll environmental and Souldoll urethane:
