Calling All Slim Boys!

Postby Kirahfaye » Sat Jun 22, 2013 5:43 pm

I figure that we have such a diverse and experienced group of bjd collectors here that I could probably get some suggestions and ideas for a future doll purchase.

I'm looking for a slim SD boy. I have a pretty boy in mind and I want him to be able to fit into SD13 girl's clothing. A friend of mine has a boy like that, but she modded his chest smaller and that's something I really don't want to do. Actually, it might be a deal breaker for me to not create the character at all. Right now I have a Blue Blood Waltz that I thought would work, but his chest (and behind) is actually too large.

So, I'm hoping some of you have some experience in this area and can point me to companies other than the more well known ones where I could find what I'm looking for. I've looked at Junky Spot, Mint on Card and DDE, but I know there are lots of reputable companies out there that don't use dealers that still make quality dolls.

In particular, I want a boy that has a chest and hip size of less than 25cm and would prefer to stay in the 60-63cm height range. BTW, I have considered the Souldoll Vito size (55cm), but I don't know if he might be too small to work with the SD girls clothing, so if anyone has experience with that size, I'd appreciate input.

I might consider a Resinsoul body if I can find a facial sculpt that matches their normal skin tone (none of their sculpts match what I'm looking for). However, the hips are wider than I want. So, again, suggestions would be appreciated.

Impldoll 64cm boys are pretty slim, but RS might be the same, so I don't know if that helps.
Kizdoll 63cm is very slim but I think they're out of business. ^^;;
Nobilitydoll 64cm is very slender, too.

The most slender of those 3 would be either the Kizdoll or the Nobility, but I'd have to measure mine to be sure which. ^^

Fantasydoll 60cm is also pretty thin, and he's shorter sized.
MiroDoll 60cm slim is slender, too.

If you want me to take any of their measurements, let me know and I'll get them for you. ^^

:hugs:

Obitsu! The 60cm boy is the same size as the girls. Or a 55cm. Kiki's Omi gets stuffed into a dress all the time!

I've considered the Obitsu, but I've never seen anything bigger than the 27cm in person so I don't know how the body looks. I don't want him to look like a child, and that's my concern with the Obitsu boy body since the limbs look chunky to me.

Kizdolls seem to still be available (via Google search last night) through a dealer. I remember really liking them when I first saw them a couple of years ago, but I'm not feeling their facial sculpts at all now, unfortunately. And since I have no idea what skin tones might match I'd be leery of getting one to change the head.

Mirodoll and Impldoll are actually too big for what I'm looking for chest-wise. Nobility Doll is closer, but the sculpts don't work, unfortunately.

Thanks for the suggestions! Please keep them coming.

This is a link to the Obitsu boy

Doll Leaves might work,
-Height: 60cm
-Head Circumference: 24cm
-Eyes: 16 - 18mm
-Neck Circumference: 9.5cm
-Shoulder Width: 14cm
-Arm Length: 19cm
-Chest: 25cm
-Waist: 20cm
-Hips: 25.5cm
-Leg Length: 34cm
-Foot Length: 7.5cm

I suggest heading to Mint on Card, and scrolling through all their dolls, or Denver Doll, or Junkyspot.

The Obitsu 55 could work, though I'd rather go with a 60cm (I couldn't find the boy chest on JS so I'm guessing it's out of stock). What resin sculpts match the Obitsu skin tone?

Oddly enough I found the less slim and the more stocky with out being muscly worked for me? My Himiko is actually on a SD13 boy body, but because he's just so undefined it really works for girl clothing.

A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.
