Equestria Girls 'Rarity' 9" CUSTOMIZED Doll

I bought a Rarity doll and received her yesterday afternoon. I liked her---she was cute. But she was definitely NOT Rarity.

I said "Maybe it's the curls not being 'ringlets'." So I promptly permed her hair.

It helped but SHE still was kind of...vague looking and happy and just not much like even the Equestria Girls 'Rarity' pictures on the back of the box and cards, let alone the 'real' Rarity (pony.)

So, this morning, I wiped her face and redid it to look more like the pictures depict. It's better, but I also noticed that her shirt is supposed to have 3/4 length sleeves, bracelets and a different type of skirt! I added a pearl bracelet to her, which gave her some pizzazz and elegance, but I might add the blouse and belt later on.

I repainted her face with a side glancing look (my favorite type), pearlescent blue big eyeshadow, and also gave her different lipstick with open mouth/teeth and arched eyebrows as shown on the character design. I also slimmed down her face a bit so it wasn't so round. ^^

I like her much better now! She has more personality and while her arched brows may look a pinch 'evil'--hopefully, it just makes her look coy and model-like, fashion-conscious.

Wow! That's a massive improvement on the stock version. Her eyes really look professional as though that's how they came out of the factory too. I think the eyebrows suit her - they're putting me in mind of the kind of teenage girl that plucks them into these large arches

Thanks so much for your comments, Vetinari-san, britbrat-san, absynthe-san, Qrinta-san, Annethecatdetective-san, and KirahFaye-san!! :hugs: Your kind words really mean a lot to me and I'm glad you all think the eyebrows don't make her look too evil! I wanted to make them a bit less arched, but the EQ girls pictures all depict her with these huge pointed brows! So I just followed the design and I think, after getting used to her with them, I think she just looks really fashionable and a bit 'catty' but not evil villain. ^^ :laughs: I really like her now---just gotta to think about updating her clothing to be more the actual characters and not just 'generic' teen outfit with molded top! :laughs:

Oh! Amazon pulled all the EG dolls the day after I ordered Rarity, so I hope I can still get an Applejack for my sister soon! I think they weren't supposed to be sold yet and so they removed the listings. (That also happened with the SDCC Amazon exclusive 'crystal Rainbow Dash' vinyl figure. They had her up for 1 day, then Funko/SDCC complained that they weren't supposed to be for sale yet and Amazon pulled the listing from their site. I guess the same thing happened with Equestria girls dolls?)

All the other sites I've been to say the Equestria Girls dolls are preorders for September!!!!! Now I wish I'd grabbed Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, too! But I don't really want them after all, so I guess it's better the way it happened. ^^ Just wish an Applejack was there so I won't have to search for her! But, ah well! It's fun to search, too, right?

She's gorgeous, at first I really thought that was just a normal picture of her in box. She looks professionally done. If they'd made the real equestria girls this nice they would have all sold out in minutes
