Thankfully, even if they aren't able to stop the auctions in time, they will be able to track them down now.
If it comes to that, hopefully whoever gets them isn't the type who wants to do mods immediately.

If the auctions are still going on, is it possible to let the seller know directly by leaving a message? I know on items, there's an option to "ask the seller a question about this item". If enough contact him or her about it and say what's going on, and if he or she is honest, they'd hopefully pull the dolls until the situation is resolved.

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for everyone to jump on the seller right now. Wildwoodflower is the only one who can do anything since they are her dolls and I'd hate to have the seller get frustrated because he/she is slammed with notices from people who aren't involved regardless of good intentions.

I'd also be concerned that if the seller does know the dolls are stolen, pinging him with a bunch of 'we know those are stolen; messages might make him pull the auctions... but it also might make him try to destroy any evidence, including the dolls. The key thing, I'd think, is to get the police on this somehow and get the dolls tracked and recovered. Granted, the guy might be innocent and not know they're stolen, but if he does? Tipping off people like that is bad.

This is depressing. The seller has not pulled the auction, and the dolls are going to sell in 2 hours.

something like this happened to my terrible roommate. she had a couple expensive marching band instruments stolen, and she found them being sold on ebay. she informed columbus PD, but they didn't seem too interested, so she went to the pawn shop that was auctioning them and got them back. TWO months later the columbus PD contacted her about them being on ebay and they thought they knew who was selling them.

yeah. I feel bad, but unless she gets ahold of the seller, I don't see much luck.

It is depressing. To have been so close to finding them but for the authorities to do nothing. To not even be able to reach them. If that were Ivan I'd just die.

This is horrible. 14 minutes left...It feels hopeless...I really hope she can get her dolls back somehow...If they do get sold maybe whoever buys them will be a good person and let her have them back and contact ebay or something about stolen property...

It probably sounds stupidly naive but I'm really hoping that if they go that the buyer is someone that she knows or from DOA that knows what's happening and that they bought them so they could make sure she got them back. I don't have an Ebay account myself, or the $$$ to go there but otherwise I'd have been very tempted to try. It's just a shame that Ebay won't do anything. It really is...

It is good to keep in mind that all is not lost.

Not only does she have the information on the seller and postings, but eBay will have all the information on the buyer also. Once she is finally able to get a hold of the PD and they get a hold of eBay there will be a trail on where to get them back from.

The persons who bought them will have to return them as they are stolen property. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about that fact. Receiving stolen property, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is a crime. They will be able to recoup their money through PayPal.

That is why it would be best if that no one who was aware of what was going on did buy them- even if it was to give back to her. That would probably get them into hot water once everything does get worked out. I have a feeling eBay would not look well on someone who knew something posted was stolen and they bought it anyway, even if it were so they could do the right thing.

The seller- well, who knows what will happen to him. It will probably come down to if they decide he was knowingly selling stolen property or if he was also just an innocent person caught up in someone else wrong doing.

The most frustrating thing about this whole mess is that she can't get a hold of the police.
