MH dolls are definitely dollie crack. I swore when they came out I wasn't going to go there. I liked the idea of classic monster kid dolls but I didn't like the torso on the girls at all. Then I saw her and decided I sort of liked a Cleo and thought well, I can put her on a Barbie body, and I did, for a while, but then she kept whining about wanting her own kind to play with and they came out with the CAM packs and I got hooked and here I am with two whole shelves of them. Current total? 26 and counting...

Haha, not just wanting a doll - going ahead and buying a doll I didn't want originally. I bought an Ellowyne Wilde Raw Edges full set. I had already decided that if I got another Ellowyne, it would be one with the inset eyes and wig, but this pretty little girl was too good a price to pass up!

Oh, and once again I'm wanting a Delilah Noir ... which means I'd have to either turn around and sell my new Ellowyne or the one I bought last year.

That doesn't happen to me...
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

I'd be careful with that idea. DN can be addictive and she's not that cheap to acquire. I've seen her fairly cheaply on Ebay though lately. The doll stores you rarely see one in stock under $100 and usually they're still trying to sell them for $149 and up. A lot of people seem to want the clothes more than the actual doll. I've seen a lot of splits on Ebay. What Delilah doll were you thinking about? I've done my homework on those. Maybe I can point you in the right direction so you don't have to sell an Ello to get a Delilah? I've seen 1st Edition, the Mannequins, Steampunk, and Red Velvet under $110 recently...

Magkelly, there's one doll in particular I'm "watching" on Ebay. She is nude without a wig and the seller disclosed some discoloration on her feet, but her price is $75.00. She's a Debut Delilah if that makes a difference. She's also a BIN so I run the risk of someone buying her out from under me, but I'm not yet prepared to purchase her.

Someone also has a Debut Delilah with two outfits and wigs (a special event offer I'm guessing, though I don't know from what year) at $139.95. Is that a good price?

How do Delilah bodies compare to Ellowynes and Minifees in size and quality?

I don't know the Minifees so I can't comment on that but I have seen an Ello or two and they're pretty comparable at least if you get the older Delilah body which is likely if you are getting the Class Act/Debut Delilah. The feet on Delilah are bigger but the head is smaller than an Ello. You cannot swap new feet onto an old body or vice versa. The pegs are differently sized. Body-wise they can share some clothes though which is nice. She takes a 7-8 wig and slim MSD shoes mostly. There are some later CA Delilah's out there that are on the new body, but if she's stained it's more likely she's the original.

The newer body was made to fit into more of the Tonner type clothes. It's lighter, slimmer in the hips, arms and legs and the feet are smaller. It's more stain resistant though I have seen some new ones that were stained too. I'm kind of worried about that with my RV's actually given the costume. They have the old body. The costume is probably very well made but red (and black) velvet is always problematic and if they did not put under tights on her and use white paper around her arms and stuff it might have stained being as they were in the outfits in the box for several years.

You can fit her into more of Ello's stuff, maybe even some shoes, and I've been able to fit the Tyler type doll stuff on her as well. Old Delilah is more traditionally MSD sized, while new Delilah is definitely slim MSD/16" fashion doll type of build though her feet won't fit all 16" fashion doll shoes. I actually kind of like that body because it means I have more stuff they can fit into but I do think the heft and hand feel on the original body was a bit better. I like both bodies, but I like the original better except for the fact that those bodies seem to stain more easily. Also, original Delilah one leg was slightly shorter than the other so it does affect how she stands a bit. They fixed that with the new body. The older body is much more solid. New Delilah has her advantages but she feels more lightweight less like a Tonner.

A lot of DN fans did not like the new body when it came out and they were apparently very vocal about it to the point where AD had to post telling them that making her slimmer and so forth was not meant to make her look anorexic or like Barbie, only to make her more posable and to fit into more clothes that were out there. They gave her a bigger chest which some people apparently just hated. But I honestly don't see what the fuss was. They're not unattractive or that much larger IMHO, just shaped a little differently.

I like both bodies and the versatility it gives me. They can swap clothing though clothes made for the new doll body can be a bit tight on the older one. Shoes fit either way so obviously they didn't change the shoe size when they changed the body, only the actual foot. The older body feels like an older Gene if that makes sense. She's got that firmness to her, that solidity. The newer one feels a bit hollow almost to me, but I don't think she is. She's not bad quality vinyl. She's just lighter. She just feels that way because some people are used to a larger, heavier doll.

The one thing you do have to watch out for is changing out her feet, in either case. Use a hair dryer to warm them and wiggle them out, don't just pull them straight out. DN's weak point is her ankles. The post for the feet can and has broken with misuse. I was going to alter a pair, cut off the post and drill a hole try to put s-hooks or at least a pin in them but I'm new to rotary tools and I don't feel quite comfortable trying that yet. I will eventually probably but not until I get a bit more experienced with my Gyro tool.

Quality of her clothes is generally very good except for the shoes. I have not been impressed with DN's shoes much at all. They are very flimsy and not at all well made. I think 5 pairs out of 7 I have so far have QC issues and actually though my CA loafers are fine I have seen a lot of them that had messed up soles so I guess I just got lucky on that score. I like her black granny boots a lot but the rivets in the holes truly suck. I lost half of them the first time I laced them up. I have managed though to find other shoes in my collection that do fit her so she turned out to have more versatile feet than I first supposed.

Most of her clothes are well made and the dark stuff is mostly lined but I don't trust them anyway. I wrap the D's in saran when I put darker stuff on or make sure they're covered under. CA her skirt did put red on her behind through her panties. That came off okay but the tights stained her knees and I could not get it off even with a Mr Clean sponge. I mean to sand her knees eventually but for now I just have light tights on her to cover it up.

Obviously with 7 DN dolls in my collection I totally love DN despite her flaws. I wouldn't trade mine for anything. I think she's adorable in all her incarnations and on either body. I really wish they had not stopped making them. I really wanted more wigs and more official outfits and stuff. I can do all that using BJD stuff but it would have been nice to have been able to have gotten it from Ashton Drake and one more doll series with articulated ankles at least would have been awesome. I still want the Lady Onyx outfit and the wig and boots from Steampunk but not enough to buy the dolls at this point.

CA is the slightly darker normal skin tone but she's not as dark as the later dolls. The newer NS dolls are just slightly darker and the skin is more waxy, not as flat. You can swap bodies, but it won't be an exact match though I think it's close enough. D&D is parchment gray, so is Lady Onyx though she's not as bad. She's a little more white and a bit bluer so it's more ghostly than zombie with her. PIP, Steampunk, they're a very, very light beige. OBTS and RV are very pale but they're a more normal slightly pink pale. I like the CA doll. I like the earlier NS with it's flatness a bit better than the later NS dolls but she's not even vaguely like a real tan no matter what version you're talking. They never did make a really dark version of her. The mannequins I don't have but from what I can tell the NS one is pretty much like PIP and the pale one is a slightly more shiny version of the OBTS dolls. More pink pale than gray pale though in pics she seems to be a bit less pink to me maybe than OBTS, but that could be because they are not blushed actually.

If I was going to only own one of each color DN doll I'd have chosen CA and probably OBTS. I think the OBTS has the nicest and most versatile coloring and screening. But I think the original DN was also a real winner. I do like the other dolls I have but I think out of the whole crew those are the two I like the most.

I was still working on my post when you replied so you might want to read it all again as I added to it for clarity. Will look at the pic and add to this. Wow, they look pretty close to me actually. The Fee's chest and hips, just slightly bigger, I think, but they might be able to swap older DN clothes I would think, yeah.

I don't get it? I hope the picture I posted was a tiny bit helpful at least :P

 I didn't mean to take over the thread, but thanks so much, magkelly and Evelien, for the info. That photo speaks volumes, too. My only question now is how different the butts are - those little MNFs have pretty decently bums on them! LOL!

The single, nude doll I'm looking at drew my attention because she seems to have more of a "resin" bjd look than many of the 16" fashion dolls. I'm guessing the one with the additional outfits and wig is the same sculpt, and therefore also on the older body.
