Essentially it's a movie starring 1/6th dolls! From Wiki:

Jackboots on Whitehall is a satirical film portraying an alternative history of WWII in which the Nazis have seized London and England must band together at Hadrian's Wall if they are to prevent a German invasion. This is the first film of its kind to feature animatronic puppets and the voices of well-known British actors including Ewan McGregor, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Timothy Spall, Richard O'Brien and Richard Griffiths.[1][2] The film is currently scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on October 8th 2010.[3]

...okay, now that's just trippy.

It brings to mind the old Supermarionation series like Thunderbirds and Joe 90. That's probably what the film makers are hoping to cash in on.

But that's still...trippy.

Nice to see Richard O'Brien's name on it, though. HAIL RIFF!

Cool! I saw a "making of" video about this movie a year or so ago but this is the first time I've seen completed footage. It looks like it'll worth watching once it get released on this side of the pond. (Because I would NEVER go to one those horrid video sharing sites that the US DoJ is so gung-ho to shut down. *AHEM* )

Well that explains why you can't find any crusher caps anywhere...

Mad props, I can only dream of doing something that involved.

This is sort of like what Robot Chicken does. They use Mego dolls as their scale and actually have ways of "blowing up" and "miniaturizing" smaller and bigger dolls respectively to their scale.

Yes, sort of a cross between Robot Chicken and Team America and that Japanese web show that's going to show up on Japanese TV soon which uses Obitsus as puppets. I like though...really like. And there is such an embarrassment of riches in WWII playscale stuff that I don't blame them for choosing subject matter or scale.

Wow! I wonder if I can get my friends to watch it on movie night? We have surely watched stranger things.
