That's disappointing. I've really noticed since the site changed hands, they've really started cracking down on the rules and trying to prevent new people from joining. I suspect soon people will start to hunt more for alternative forums as the situation continues in this direction. I was really hoping they'd allow these as they fit everything but one criteria,I am still disappointed about the human kid sized Dollmore doll released not being allowed on the forums. :(

I agree, that's a good point. The internal skeleton really does add a lot to posability to the doll and structure. The original DD even retains SOME of this internal skeleton-like design by virtue of the way it's done (I really need to get photos up of it). When I first was told about I assumed it was strung exactly like normal bjds--WRONG. It's done very differently. I suspect that this is probably related why they went into the direction of an internal skeleton for this reason, as they realized the market appeal was different.

Do you mean the Dollmore Lusion? Actually I think they reversed their decision on that one - which I found surprising since "visually" it's really not on par with their "asian aesthetic". I suspect that they caved under pressure from users and the fact that after Lusion came out darn near every other doll maker started making those pseudo china doll faced things ;p I'm really rather glad that trend has faded away.

Actually, Volks DD internal skeleton was actually a copy of the Obitsu! They came out with the DD2 because they were forced to change it. LOL! I like the DD bodies, I have actually gotten to work with one of the old ones too. I think the Gretel head looks best on them.

I like the price point of the vinyl little dolls, and I really like their size. I want the CH ones for Hazel as her second kids, and if they are indeed smaller than Juli (my DZ BB) they would be perfect - and I adore their little faces!!

Kinda OT, but does anyone know how to restring the DDII body? I have one that seriously needs it done, but it looks so weird compared to regular strung dolls. And I can't find a tutorial, even on DoA. Though their search engine sucks big time, so who knows, there might be one there after all.

Some parts can be redone, some cannot. The ankles are just going to be loose. I suggest talking to K2!, who has the most experience with fixing them. I have someone with one who was going to get together with me and work on it, but we haven't yet. If we do, I will let you know.

DDII? Restrung? I applogize but I'm not sure I understand, as the body is put together with a armature. I will comment I found I still have the little booklet that came with the DDII which does show how to put the doll back together. Perhaps I might be able to photograph that later. Otherwise, if you were talking about the DDI, I do have photos of that already.

I'll probably want to make a separate thread on this, as I think these particular images are very useful in better understanding these bodies.

Please do that Biff! If you can post those in the Dollieh Care and Maintenance section that would be awesome - its just the sort of thing that would be perfect in that section :)
