that would be freaking cute!

i'm having a mini dillema though. the mirodoll tan, when i compared them, is a bit darker than this head. not terrible but noticable.
but from the pics, the NS would be way too pink, and the white is not a chance. :(

Image

i mean, it doesn't photograph badly, and i guess with some shading on the head and highlighting on the body it would end up close :/ i jsut really like his faceup and was trying to avoid a whole paintjob. :(

Waaa!! The Ersa Flora eyes are perfect on him! Love how he's coming along!

As for the resin difference, try pastel blushing the whole head on top of the face-up without sealing it... that way, if you don't like the way it's going you can lightly rinse it off, keeping your face-up intact. You can also seal the current face-up with another layer of sealant before doing so, just as an added layer of protection.

might try that. i was going to give him a shaded jawline and stuff. i'm thinking if, instread of shading the body, i highlight instead it will bring it up a bit to the heads colour too. either way, won't be able to play till i get a body in.

sidenote: man that friggin pic keeps creeping me out.

small update. boring night so i redid goggles.

Image

new on top, old on bottom.
i used craft foam, two beads for the lens-cap for the goggles. i decided to not make them see-through since, from looking at the images, it looks kinda like welder's goggles. and they're still drying in the pic lol.

small update. ordered his body, some shoes and a shirt. figure pants are easy enough to make (and his are unique in their waistline) that i can sew them up when he gets here.

For the goggles:

Check the "Novelty candy" aisle for "Baby bottle pops" or candies. They come with a lid that has a nipple (the rubber ones NOT the hard candy version) which fits into a ring-cap that screws onto the bottle. If you can cut and sand the sides down evenly and remove the nipple part, you have plastic rings (buy two of them of course... more so you have spares) that will glue nicely onto a leather backing. The clear plastic inserts can be made with report covers, or the plastic that comes on electronic tchatchkes like headphones. You know... the fitted "shells" that rip you to ribbons when you try to open them.

The result will probably be a lot more professional. Failing that... old eyedropper bottle lids can possibly work. Go to an organic pharmacy and ask for tincture bottles. They sell them empty and they have the same ring-cap.

You can buy plastic washers from the hardware store but for SOME reason the things are insanely expensive. I remember accidentally paying $8.00 for ONE! Yucko!

thanks swan.
i was going to make them with rings and leather like i did with one of my other dolls (never posted the pics, it failed). unfortunatly, the way the character's specs are designed is that they are very very flat goggles, so much so i won't even bother giving him lashes as they would get wrecked. i was going to make them from layers of rubber sheeting, including the band, but havent had a chance to swing into the city and check their hardware stores. (plus i'm worried a bit it may mark him.)

body is here!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KafVlCr9 ... e=youtu.be

still waiting on clothes though. i'm gonna blush him today and sew him up some pants, so pics after all that work. for now, there's the box opening link :)

also, my god i love that body. you can tell with resinsoul that it's like a very female hip and chest ratio hourglass shape. but this guy! his tummy, chest and hips are all in a "proper" triangle male shape. which sounds dweeby but it's really good for this character. kinda like the difference between... an obitsu VS a GI Joe in the 1/6 scale.
