Beat up, hand me down Pullip in need of some TLC!

hi! i said i would post pictures of my beaten up, hand-me-down pullip ASAP, and i'm no liar! <3

as you can see, she's got no scalp, damage on her right eye, yellowing on her nose, a poor faceup, and only wears a dirty barbie dress. her joints are also extremely loose, her left hand's wrist joint is practically immovable, and her legs come off often. i love her very, very, very much even though everyone i meet thinks she's scary or gross. i want to give her some TLC to get her looking and feeling at least a bit nicer... how can i do that? i have the eye issue all figured out, i'm going to buy some new eyes and maybe a new eye mech for her when i can. mostly, i'm concerned about the scalp. i want her to have a nice head of hair so badly, or at least to not have that big dirty ditch in her head where it's supposed to be. any tips and tricks? or should i give up and sell her usable parts for a little money? that'd be a shame, because i really do love her ...

if you see any issues that i didn't mention, please say so! again i'm sorry for the poor photo quality, my sister is out and she's the one with the nice camera.

Use a magic clean eraser to clean her up and try starting with a new face up..To cover up the scalp issue just get her a new wig. owo; As for the body...You might wanna just Obitsu her.

i've never heard of using an obitsu body for a pullip! :3c i'll research that a little and see what i can do!~

for the scalp, will a wig fit in her if there's no scalp? her head isn't exactly even, it looks kinda like those diagrams of animal cells that biology textbooks have where it has the big, round part and then the rest of the roundness is all small and out of place. (kinda like this: http://www.childcoloringpages.net/wp-co ... iagram.jpg )
will a wig really just slip onto her head like that without a proper scalp? :O

Do you mean there's a hole in her head? Maybe a silicone wig cap would help? Or if for some reason you didn't want to do that, you could cut out a section of something round of a similar size and use that to patch her up. But I think the sillicone wig cap would be the way to go, seeing as they aren't that expensive.

Looking forward to seeing her get fixed up!

i don't really know how to explain her head shape too well, the cell thing was kind of a silly example >//w//<; in the second picture, the top of her head best shows her head shape. her head is in good condition besides the yellowing and the bad faceup, no holes or anything!
no matter what i do for the wig situation, i know i'm going to buy her a wig cap. i hope it can do something, anything for my poor little girl!
thankfully, the parts i need for her aren't too pricey. the priciest things i would need for her are the obitsu body and the wig! phew! i hope it doesn't turn my small workspace into a battlefield of plastic and discarded doll parts because of my inexperience

so i can't stop thinking about the obitsu body for my girl.
i want one so badly! they're cheap and look much, much better than the original pullip body, in my opinion! it'd be ideal for me to have one! but i can't help but think ... which obitsu body works best? i know i'm supposed to use the ones with the weird-shaped neck joints, but what size/shape body should i get? anny suggestions? :D

If you got her one of the silicone wig caps, you could reinforce the part of it that goes over the missing head cap with a little glue or something to make it stiffer. Luckily, the silicone ones are nice and sturdy, so you may not even need to do that. Or you could stuff a wad of white tissue paper in the head, just to keep the skull from caving in under the wig. :)

Seconding the Obitsu body idea. Those things are great. As for the body style, it's ALL personal preference! If you go to the junkyspot's obitsu page, you can browse through a whole bunch, and just pick one you like. They all work well, and are extremely poseable. Best of luck with your girl, I love fixer-upper projects.

When I purchased a damaged Pullip head that was missing the back I covered the head in plastic wrap and sculpted a new one with 2 part apoxie. Taking care to not make it too thick or it will be too heavy. After it dried, I just sanded it down to fit perfectly and then put some velcro on both sides to hold it on. And then after you put a wig on you won't be able to tell the difference and the head will still have the shape you'd want. :)

that sounds like a great idea! i have a friend who actually collects pullips (i didn't know that she did until recently 'o' ) and she said that she'd help me cue and mould a blythe scalp until it fit my pullip. she's apparently done it many times! if that doesn't work out, i'll definitely try your idea! thank you ^^
