Hello, New Person from Scotland!

Postby werepuppy » Wed Dec 11, 2013 4:32 pm

So I've been lurking on the board for a little while now, and I felt it was about time to make my first post. So here it is. So, erm, hi to you all. From what I've seen on the board it looks like this is a lot less ... stressy than some boards I've been on before - not doll related, of course. This is actually one of the first doll related boards I've ever been on.

Been collecting for a couple of years now, and I don't really have any BJDs. I have one obtisu that was made for me to look like Wednesday Addams by a dear friend. Mostly my doll collection consists of Monster High, Ever After High, Disney, and some BeGoths. Some mostly 1/6 scale if I'm honest. I'd like to afford to BJD one day but I tend to get a level of guilt for laying out over x amount on a single doll. Not that I begrude anyone anything, I just ... erm ... it makes no sense unless you have my head, I'm afraid. I just tend to get gulity about purchases really easily.

I also collect Zelfs, action figures (my favourites are usually Figuarts, but I have a couple of Revoltechs, two Notdoroids, and a Play Arts Kai) and comics/books. Though I'll admit the comics and books is less of active collecting and more something that just happens because I've liked them pretty much all my life, so am bound to build a collection over that period of time.

Erm, not really sure what else to say here. Hoping to interact with you all, and will hopefully make another post soon!

I can relate to that. It's a bit easier to spend $500 on one doll once you've bought a house or a car; something that really makes your financial hairs stand on end. Till you're comfortable with that level of dolly spending, Monster Highs can be just as loveable.

By the way, welcome to the Sanctuary. I think we've got a place for you here.

You be careful now. I dumped Barbie and went down the action figure path from GI JOEs to 12inchers) and 12inch action figure dude made me get an Obitsu and then more customed Obitsu and Volks and the odd BBI hybrids happened and someone snuck in a 50cm Obitsu and someone else snuck in a 70cm Leon Kennedy wannabe.

I have some Figmas but its only after my 1/6ers started to dress like some characters too long a period of time.

Hi and welcome on board!
Like Iwa-Hoshi said, be careful XD I started with a customized Barbie-like doll, gathered some little Obitsu and then, when I finally got a real job, bought my first BJD... and now they're already going to be two ^_^'

Hi and Welcome! I don't have any BJD's either. 1/6 is mostly the scale I collect and I mostly collect Barbies :D
