Hmnnn, the more I stare at the PTE Not-Kato, the more I think all you need is a body swap for a smaller body size (again, if PTE is taller than TTB the skin tones are a pretty good match too!) and a bit of a mixture of DollyKim's advice and my own (if I do say so myself *coughs* ). I wouldn't quite go as far as carving out his hair since he already has a natural part like Kato does, but I would sand/dremel/shape it down into the slicked look Kato has and then use DollyKim's advice and carve in the smaller details like the suggestion of individual clumps of hair for realism's sake. The face may need a little touch up but for the most part he fits the Kato role pretty well in my opinion. I don't know that you want to be going for a Barbie (or Japanese Ken, no matter how pretty he is XD) head and the bother of a reroot, especially since they won't really look like a matching set, whereas right now they look pretty good together even as-is. I think shaping the hair to fit Kato's might make you like your PTE guy for Kato a little better. :)

OH! And as for outfits...what sort of outfits are you looking for? I know they wear their usual "costumes", which might be worth a custom project and hiring a seamstress for. (I can recommend a few, but one works only on ones she feels like doing, and the other few are really, really clogged up with orders, so you may have a month or two wait on your hands?)

Also, you might want to tell Gift_in_Edge what to search for, Studio 126, because "Horace" doesn't bring up anything under G.I. Joe for me, they're all labeled by job description. :D

Some were sold as Japanese fighter pilots, but if sold nude, it wouldn't be labelled that way. Otherwise, used Joes are advertised without distinction. You may add the term "Japanese" or "Oriental" to "GI Joe," if that helps, but I own three different Oriental/Japanese Joes.

Well, since I'm not the one looking for the dolls (I just did a test search to try and help), I'm hoping it helps Gift_in_Edge!! :D I hope she reports back to us on what she's going to do, I'm interested now.

"Horace" is his factory name, not an official one, but many collectors have adopted these names, too.

Though I am not allowed to re-publish it, I have a PDF archived copy of a page that told about them. Send requests (for it) to Playscale.Poser+of_CCJoes@gmail.com

You can get just the head for the Hot Toys True Type, the body is way too large for Kato, and there's the Dragon Detective Chow. There's also kits and heads for Bruce Lee.

I searched for 1/6 Asian on Ebay and got some results.

Since Kato is meant to be smaller, I would go for an Obitsu regular guy sculpt since he's still a little on the skinny side. It fits the "realistic" head types and the PTE head would fit I believe. Possibly? I still think the PTE guy resembles Kato, Bruce Lee...not quite so much. Maybe the sculpts are a little too detailed next to PTE Green Hornet? I don't know, again, in the end, it's Gift_in_Edge's decision. :)

Here is a Ken head on a Moxie teen body. The hair was rerooted and styled. A character from "Viewfinder"

maywong, that "Viewfinder" custom is gorgeous!! Heh, I hope I'm thinking about the same "Viewfinder"....anime, right? Gratuitous yaoi? (I love gratuitous yaoi, no offense intended!) May I ask you a question if you don't mind? Where do you find your glasses for your 1/6 figures? It seems I'm forever searching for them because apparently I really like characters with glasses, though I'd never noticed a trend before starting customizing! The things you learn! I'm desperately searching for round glasses, rectangular ones, normal ones, anything really, just so long as it's not the $100+ ones on Ebay that are custom made for the Breaking Bad characters. I'd cut off a finger before paying so much money for a pair of 1/6 scale glasses because all I would be able to think of every time I looked at my custom would be "I. Paid. Over. A. Hundred. Dollars. For. Those. Tiny. Freaking. Glasses. Oh. My. God."

The tutorial on Devart right? I'm looking more for wire-rim type glasses. And I'd love to see more of your customs Maywong!! May I ask where you bought the glasses from on here? I'm searching for round, wire rims and I keep thinking I'm going to need to to resort to wire and solder, which doesn't appeal, not to mention silver tarnishes and is expensive. Do you mind giving me a mini little glasses tour? They're the one accessory that I can't seem to find what I need. I lucked out and found a pair that will work for Claude, but just barely. The rest...not so much.
