My new Lizette

Postby kenaiqueen » Fri Dec 27, 2013 4:59 pm

She has finally arrived! This is the same kind of School Dazed Lizette that my sister got last year when she got my School Dazed Ellowyne for me. I got her off ebay for a reasonable price (especially considering how overpriced she has been!) and she finally arrived today. Here she is in front of our tree with my other Christmas dolly, Briar Beauty. I named her Billie.

Not greatly in love with her schoolgirl outfit, so I changed her immediately. I'll have to see how her personality develops before I start making her some new clothes. My Ell had the same outfit and wig when I got her and it just didn't suit. I washed out the crispy curls and it was better, but I kinda like the crispy curls with Lizette. Love her inset brown eyes and the more natural lip color too. I'll have to try some other wigs on her later.

Here she is with the rest of the Wilder girls. I refer to her as a 'sister from a different mister.' :o) From left to right, Rose, Joan, Bille & Jean.

Kudos to anyone who knows who the people are that I referenced for their names. :o)

Ooh! Lizette! I love her so much. I have "new girl in town" and adore her but I've also always admired school daze for her inset eyes. It's so awesome to see her here. She is such a beauty! She looks great in that outfit. Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! :)

She's lovely!

Name wise, I was thinking either Dr Who references, or Michael Jackson songs, but couldn't get all four to fit in either (as a bonus, I have Billie Jean stuck in my head now!!)

Thank you all! I am in love with the inset eyes on the Ellowynes. I think they give them more personality.

LOL! I get that earworm too! Here's the breakdown:
Joan Wilder - fictional character in the movie "Romancing the Stone"
Rose Wilder - daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder and feminist/journalist
Jean Wilder - feminized spelling of Gene Wilder, actor (forever best Willy Wonka!)
Billie Wilder - feminized spelling of Billy Wilder, director (movies like Sunset Boulevard, Sabrina & Some Like it Hot)

One of my Patsy dolls is named Laura. The other one just named herself Mary Jane, so I went with it. I'm pretty much out of famous 'Wilder' names, so I think I'm done collecting Ellowynes....for now. ;)

Ahhh cool! And I agree ref Willy Wonka. As much as I love Depp, he just wasn't right for the role. Although I do think Dahl's choice (Spike Milligan) would have been brilliant.
