My Obitsu 60 is a boy without boy parts, I swapped his boobs for a boy chest. One would suppose others could do that.

Having her window shop with you is a great idea, then I'd run it by dad to make sure.

That makes sense, actually. Call me an old fuddy-duddy but I wouldn't want my teen daughter to have a doll with a realistic BJD style penis. The resin sculpts are quite lovely and realistic, but in my opinion, quite adult. It's not something I'd want a 13 year old child to be exposed to. (ha, exposed.) I'd go the vinyl route when buying dolls for my kids. They're less detailed where it counts, but for a younger teen I think that's a great compromise.

my daughter was 16 when she bought a bobobie weylin, not wanted to deal with that aspect of the doll he arrived from junkyspot with bubble wrap around it by default she unpacked her doll said here mom put this on him. I put his pants on and handed him back. I don't know that she has ever changed his pants herself. some people rather or not its there or not can easily avoid ever seeing it or one could just mod it off. I have a tiny I took theirs off to make it a girl officially as I has 2 of the same doll and I wanted male/female twins so I have them after a little filing ;)

i love the obitsu but that's out of the price range we are looking at sadly. modding is not to bad of an idea if she falls in love with one of the male sculpts actually. i have a boy i modded the ears off of so i know its not hard to do. other then that it would have to be a female doll he father is very old fashioned i guess you could say even though she watches anime so i am pretty sure it would not matter to her >>

Hey there Rage_Girl!! Just a thought, how closely is her father going to be examining this doll? I mean, are we talking like "Daddy's going to be all up in your doll's business honey." or is he going to give it a cursory glance and ask a few questions? A lot of the male sculpts could pass for a tomboyish female. If she has her heart set on the male dolls and likes their sculpts better, you could sand off his poor little wee-wee (Oh GOD  ) and have the doll wearing fantasy or plain style "gender neutral" clothes. Even knowing how effeminate most of the male BJDs are (not all of them, but most), I still have to squint sometimes and go "...is that...a girl...a guy....?" She would be the only one who knew her doll was a boy. She can even give it a gender neutral name too. :D I understand her father's concern about the doll parts, even though I was raised in a much more liberal household and can't quite wrap my mind around it (all I can hear is my mother in my head seeing a BJD picture for the first time "Why isn't his **** bigger?"), but going so far as to not allow a nearly genderless doll isn't quite fair in my opinion, no offense intended.

As for the responsibility part, it sounds like you really trust her and if she's in love with them, let her have a dollieh! It may start a trend. :D

And a bit off topic: I find a lot of children need leashes. And harnesses. And straightjackets. It seems the concept of "delicate handling" does not enter their brain unless it's their precious iPod/phone/whatever.

Could always do what I just did... get the RS Li body, and sand off what little boobage is there.

Bobobie Sprite! They come on an immature female body. And they could easily be a tomboy - just ask my girls! Short fur wig, jeans and a hoodie or t-shirt!
