Centaurs & Year of the Horse

Postby Trethowan » Tue Dec 31, 2013 7:18 am

Who's going to make a centaur doll this year? Let's share links to all the centaur sculpts popping up for 2014. <3 If I didn't throw down all my money on a giant Granado beefcake, I'd totally spring for a centaur. <3

All these years and attempts later the only one I have is the original static pose Roger. Engineering horse limbs is hard.

For some reason I'm kinda hoping Iplehouse would make one... I blame Khal Drogo if not Soom's Mother of Dragons for this line of thought.

Loongsoul has four 1/6ers coming up - 2 centuars, a unicorntuar and a deertaur and some snails

Lutsand Lati were spamming some before it became a stampede

Hmmm. Do the 'taurs released this year also count, or just the ones for next? I'm pretty sure Luts'll come out with a few more, though, as popular as the releases have been so far. :)

And yes I've been eyeballing that adorable Soom-taur 'cause I really want a girl to go with my Borytaur, but I'm doing my best to resist. REALLY don't have room for more dolls right now. Especially those with four legs!

I am seriously considering the new soom. But trying to talk myself out of it.

My best arguments against are no room to display anywhere, already spent enough on dolls & Christmas and the little ones are harder to resist -what if someone makes more of those and I have no spending money?

Arguments for: Lovely shape, adorable face, great proportions and just plain beautiful. Sigh.

But Monster High is coming out with a centaur.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I spent a lot of money on BJDs this past year, and I really shouldn't buy any more....but I just can't resist these Soom centaurs^^" I really hope Soom is done with releasing awesome dolls for a while, because for some reason I'm unable to talk myself out of buying from them...and, TBH, I'm kind of expecting them to release new Elves soon as well, because it's been quite some time since the last Elves releaseT_T

Anyway, on topic: I also believe that Luts will be releasing more centaurs this year. They apparently got lots of orders for all the ones they've done so far, after all. And I wouldn't be surprised if they also announced centaurs in other sizes, like Honey Delf or Senior Delf. What I would also really like to see is a human version of the Sagittarius Zuzu Delf^^

Other than that...well, Lati also did a centaur for their Olympos release, so I guess it's possible they'll be making another one as well. If they do, I hope they'll change the body slightly, though. The Olympos one was cute, but the reason I didn't buy it was that the legs were just too short:/

BTW: Happy New Year, everyone!^__^
Currently own: Soom Shale, Soom Fels, Soom Roxen, Soom Borol, Soom Idealian Hyperon Mercenary from Hell, Lati Yellow Kuroo Reindeer SQ, Lati Yellow Lea "Gerda" SQ, Lati Yellow Bat Children Noa and Haru, Fairyland Pukifee Mio (LE)
On the way: Soom Beyla (Winged Centaur)

Well, I know that Diamondclaw is getting the Luts Satyros boy. Crystalinewings has a Soom YoSD Centaur, but I think she is selling it. And why did my mind just wonder if the MH Centaur would be able to be turned into an Obitsu Centaur?

A couple of 27cm Obitsus might be modded to a centaur. Take the feet off to replace with hooves, turn the back legs around to turn the knees in to heels. Use a Slim torso for the horse body.
