Ahhh, sounds like everyone got mostly useful things!! Makes me feel silly that my BIG FIND was a rare plushie and a replica weapon!! XDD Not to mention I've been treating myself to some doujinshi that were priced cheap enough that I was like "HELL YES.". Ah well, I honestly don't do that much "treating" during the actual year so I figure I'll have my cake and eat it too. My mother is going crazy buying witch's globes. (Decorative spun glass spheres that are supposed to ward off evil spirits according to folklore, but they're becoming so numerous I think they're starting to usher in....let's be nice and say "overabundance". XD)

I treated myself to some gorgeous geodes, a bunch of books/doujinshis (hey, anime nerd, whatcha gonna do? ), and by far my favourite: A wicked 14'' long movie replica knife from the movie Mortal Kombat. (Kano's raptor knife on the slim chance there is any MK fans here!) It's used gently and without the original box but considering the newer replica knife costs a whopping $150 and has a very irritating giant logo right in the middle of the blade? Yeah, I can do without the box or the sheath. I'll just custom make a leather sheath for it. (I admire and collect weapons, yes. I do not scare the neighbours with them, I promise.)

So, what did everyone else get and/or treat themselves to that isn't related to dollieh land? :D

LOL I have a replica sword from LOTR-Arwen's sword. It wasn't Christmas this year but, a few years ago. We love swords here. :D
This year I got music CDs for all the Rodger and Hammerstein musicals. My favorite is a beautiful hand thrown yarn bowl from my husband. It holds my yarn while knitting or crocheting so the cats won't steal it. :D I also got 6 books in different paranormal series that I am reading. Everything else was doll stuff.

Oh, this one's easy. I never get anything dolly-related anyway because nobody I know outside the internet is into them or cares that I am.

But I did get The Avengers on Blu-ray, some cash, a gift card to Barnes & Noble, a plate of homemade cookies ... and that's about it. My friend is planning on treating me to The Hobbit as a gift, too.

I treated myself to a digital camera and a new phone. Maybe next year it'll be a newer, larger television that actually has HDMI hookup instead of analog. lol

Shoes, a steel boned corset (that has yet to arrive and tbh I'm slightly terrified of!), and Trix breakfast cereal (being in the UK and finally working out that this stuff was probably the multicoloured cereal in the Addams Family film, both when Gomez hits the golfball into the judge's house and when Gomez is being depressed.. Well yah of course I had to beg for a box, and if it's nasty - well I've found a recipe for Trix marshmallow cereal bars!)

My brother got me rose flavored Turkish delight. It was my first time enjoying it, and I now know why Edmund basically sold his soul to the White Witch for it!

I also got a small jar of saffron threads. So many recipes to try, but I don't want to waste them all in one place!

I had a lovely Christmas! I was terribly excited this year to have an income because it meant I got to give gifts that I'd actually bought... but I also received some nice things.

I got the Miette baking book, for one-- and in my stocking, I got those little reusable tab-style bookmarks, so now I have a few recipes marked down as the first to try. I also got a copy of 'A Stitch in Time', an out-of-print Star Trek (Deep Space 9, to be exact) novel. And I got the two limited edition Night Vale shirts! (and they FIT, which I worried about, because I have a *cough* generous bust, and... oh, gosh, we'll see whether or not I need to do any minor binding after the first wash and dry cycle, since I've heard they shrink, but...)

I got a scarf from Rome, which was a wonderful little surprise, from my world-traveling aunt, and an interesting hat, and I got a nice blank book and a coin purse with a fox on it from my other aunt, and yeah, all in all it was a wonderful holiday, and now I fly home... whew!

richila Haha, I'm so glad I'm not the only blade admirer around here!! I also want the replica katana from MK but it's SO EXPENSIVE. O_O Besides, it's Scorpion's katana and while he's one of my absolute favourite characters his sword definitely isn't what he's known for in the games. I think even people who don't play Mortal Kombat know his classic "GET OVER HERE!!" move where he throws a large shuriken attached to a chain at his opponent and drags them closer. XDD

I bet Arwen's sword is a gorgeous piece to have around though!! I just bought myself a new (functional) pocket knife because my old one was so dull that even knife sharpeners couldn't help any more, and I treated myself to a pretty stiletto knife with a blue Chinese dragon on it, and a balisong knife (most people know these as "butterfly knives"). The next one on my list is the karambit, a knife that mimics the shape of a tiger's claw, but all the ones on Ebay are annoying tactical looking ones. I want a special one, so I'm waiting on that. ;)

Also, from experience: Cats will steal from anywhere. Our cats just managed to bust the lower pane of glass in our French Doors so now we have a hole in the window in middle of winter!! I swear, if I didn't love them so much they would be out on their furry butts!

Stormlight XDD, my TV still has a mixture of analog and HDMI setups because where I live is too old (read: unsafe) for them to put in new cable lines, so I have 40+ year old analog cable lines feeding into a 50'' HDMI TV which drives me nuts!! XDD

The Avengers!! I've been avoiding it like the plague because I know I'm going to be naughty and ship Thor/Loki all over the place even though I shouldn't, and the last thing I need is another thing to obsess over, but I'm weakening, I love action movies...urghhhhh.....

Also, go book lovers! <3

takahirokumiko Functional gifts can be good too, but ohohoho, I bet playing Tekken is a hell of a lot more fun!!!

Vetinari A steel boned corset.... uh...ouch? Haha, Trix tastes just like every other fruity cereal out there, if you've ever eaten Fruit Loops, etc. And I've had them made into the marshmellow bars before (like rice krispy treats, but fruity!) and they're good!! :D What prompted you to actually try the cereal though if I may ask? :)

<----I am ashamed to say I know absolutely nothing of what you speak of.

Now the saffron I get!!! Whoah are those little babies expensive!!! But saffron is amazing in Indian food if that's your thing. ;)

Gift_in_Edge Is that the playable "toybox" game where you can mix and match games? :D

AnnetheCatDetective Another baker here!! <33 I love to cook, as soon as I feel better I'm whipping up a massive batch of stuffed shells. I always have to make like six giant tins full of them because relatives magically appear and my shells magically disappear when they leave! I wonder if there's something to that?

Ohhh, hon, I share the woes of what you so delicately call a "generous bust" and I know what a pain it is for clothing fitting. <_< I envy women with nice, medium sized busts. I always feel like I enter the room about five minutes after my chest. It's a genetic trait on my mother's side. We all have the same problem!!

Oh, what kind of scarf? :D I love the decorative, colourful fabrics they come in!!!
