Does anyone on DS actually collect Barbies?

Barbie, Jenny, Fashion Royalty, Obitsu and 1/6 resins - basically anything 10-12inch/21-27cm or in the neighborhood.

It fascinates me how many people swap body parts with their dolls. I have one hybrid and she is only a hybrid because I bought her second hand and she came like that. I just can't imagine pulling any of my dolls heads off :o

Stick around. We'll corrupt you and you'll start looking forward to it. My husband says I look happiest when ripping the heads off dolls and switching them to other bodies. :D

Some of the dolls look forward to it. When Target had a $5 each sale on 100 Poses a few years back those girls were specifically bought to have other heads swapped on to them so they were okay with it. Those I didn't keep found their ways to kids who didn't have dolls.

Xavier had to remind me he's just a doll and he's okay if I treat him like a doll. Jim Henson used to toss his Muppets aside and even step on them to keep a healthy disrespect. I wouldn't step on a doll, it would break, but I'll pile them in a corner, toss them in a box, and completely ignore them until I need them again. They don't mind, they're dolls.

To each their own I say ;) . I know they are dolls, but they special to me :) Besides, I have a real thing about looking after things :) so I do my best to keep them looking good. Just who I am ;)

When not in use, I store mine in clear tackle boxes in the fashion of sardines. They look a bit like suspended animation chambers... :geek:

That sounds like a good idea. Does the plastic not 'sweat' a lot when it's hot though? Just wondering, because it gets really hot here.

Dollykim your BJD's are lovely! I particularly like Xavier and his mail order bride :D Jip is very cute too, but my favourite is Luci. She is adorable! Actually, it's hard to choose because they all have something unique. :)
The paint job on your baby born doll is fantastic! The one where he is lying with his one leg up, in the blue outfit, is so realistic! You are very talented Kim!

Thanks :)

Luci is about the same size as the Bitty Bitsu but with more realistic proportions.
