My very first BJD box opening (Mirodoll)

I'm so happy that after lot of patience and work, I finally have my first BJD. I feel like I can cry happily right now :D

Everything inside is exactly the same as other Mirodoll box opening, except there is no bonus for me lol. But who need bonus when I get my first BJD today

I'm so happy that everything arrived perfectly fine and okay. I was afraid that that her slender hand is fragile but Mirodoll is great enough to wrap the hand carefully. I know that 60cm doll is going to be huge but it still shock me a lot for my first time holding such a big doll :D

Image
I was quite surprised that the Mirodoll NS has more lighter skin tone than Obitsu WS. The skin tone is a great match, just some blushing and I think it will be fine. Not only that, I was afraid that the smaller chest is too small but when I see it in person, I have to say this is a medium chest rather than small. Good thing I have no regret :)

The only problem there are quite rough scratch and marks in some parts of the body. This can be solved with sanding though. Also there is some discolorations in some of the edges. I'm sorry for not being not the best photograph as this photo only caught the discolorations rather than the rough edges. There is also discolorations in the seams lines.

Anyway, I'm really happy that I smiled all day long. I can't wait to start my project soon but since tonight is going to be New Year, I have to postpone 1-2 days.

Also, can anyone give a me a link to dissamble and restringing tutorial? I think the string is too tight that she can't stand by herself and her leg like to bent very much  The tutorial I have found usually talking S hook in the hand and feet while Mirodoll doesn't use S hook in both.

Congratulations! You don't have to restring her, you can untie those knots and retie them looser. Are the rough parts inside the joint? That will probably be fine. Try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser first, it is actually very fine sandpaper. As for the uneven resin color, that you can blush if it bothers you. It is a product of the casting process and just happens. I can't wait to see her!

Thank you, I also can't wait to see what kind of girl she become :)
Not that I bothered with the uneven resin and rough part, I can fix it with your tips. But I need some tutorial that doesn't involve with S hook since I want to coat the body with MSC, body blushing and suede it so dissamble it into parts will be easier.
And I like to know how this BJD works so I can know how to poses it better ( I have struggled A LOT today just to make her do some poses :P)

When you take the doll apart you will notice that there are two strings at least. Usually there is one string going through the arms and one string going through both legs. Make sure you keep the left and right parts separate, and know which way was up. I suggest stringing each arm and leg onto a ribbon loosely to work with them. As to stringing without an S hook, you can either make an S hook out of strong wire or just thread the hand or foot onto the elastic. Basically you start from the neck, go down the body, down the leg pieces, add a foot and then thread back up. For the best tension string both legs at the same time. I would have to look at Delion, it is possible that Mirodoll uses separate elastic for each leg. That does simplify it. For the arms, you would do the same. Usually on a doll the arm elastic just goes across and doesn't come out the neck. I hope this helps. I would check my Mirodoll but Delion is currently wearing leather Dragon Armor and a long sleeve shirt.

I think mirodoll also use two string too. I want to restring it the way mirodoll works, however I afraid that I can't assemble it back after disassembling it. It's okay if you can't provide picture of your doll, I'm okay with doll restringing tutorial that similar to mirodoll. So if you know any, please give me the link.

By the way, what is the difference with S hook for hand and feet? Will it help to poses better? If so, I would like to add it for my doll :)

awesome! glad you finally got her in!

s-hooks help with taking their hands off if you are putting them into tighter clothing, or putting on jewelry etc.

Then I don't think I need S-hook at this moment and just found out that my girl wrist have a thick resin wall which make me think how to make S hook fit there....

if you hunt around you can probably find uneven s-hooks, where the part that goes on the hand is bigger than the one that would go on the elastic/ fit into the arm. there are also pretty skinny ones available. try looking in a jewelry section of a craft store, instead of the hardware store.

After trying to restring her, I thought that S-hook will make it better. I used a paperclip instead of searching in places that I don't think will sell the size I need. Not only that, the paper clip is quite sturdy enough to be a S-hook and can hold tension too, lucky I followed people's tutorial.

By the way, in 1-2 days, my doll should have finished (without her official clothes though), should I post her here or make a new thread? Suggestion anyone?
