Regarding Recasts

If you took offense at my response, I apologize. Likewise you have my every sympathy for having gone through your traumatic event. My response was not mean to be rude or sarcastic, but just stating the facts of this matter. As pointed out, the use of the word rape in reference to this post was discussed at length some time ago. If you didn’t read the entire thread or need further clarification you should have PMed a moderator. But the fact of this matter remains. There are many things, words and images, that offend people, too many to count. It is up to each individual to protect themselves from the things that offend them, not the job of an editor, moderator, etc.
It is the policy of this board to disallow discussion of political, religious, and other hot button topics. It is my job to step in when users insist on bending or challenging this policy. Your response to my answer to your first question seemed purposefully naïve, and brazenly challenging, especially since the stance on the word rape’s usage with regards to this thread had already been discussed at length. You seemed to wish to press on with this discussion, which has no place here. There are other more appropriate places to discuss such things. You are of course free to disagree with the original poster’s usage but their post was neither immoral nor illegal and therefore will not be edited.

Hi all, a bit late here but it was a hella week at work this week so I'm late with my catching up.

For the record, I'm not the hunchback, but the hunchback is someone whom I fully trust and authorize to step in when I'm not around and something comes up.

As for my usage of the word rape in my post I'm afraid that, as has been explained, I will not change it. I do feel that strongly about the theft of intellectual and creative property and my usage is a perfectly acceptable one given the definition of the word. I'm not going to post a warning that I used strong language in the post either because, well, there are times when language is used to make a point. I wanted to make a strong point and so I used language not normally characteristic of me to make it.

If I did put a warning of strong language, would it really have made a difference? I doubt it, in fact, I suspect more people would read the thread just to see what sort of language I used and thus even more people may have been offended than by just allowing those curious about my stance on recasts read it. After all, not everyone cares about recast dolls. Most don't buy them (I hope) and the sub community that deals in them now knows that I do not welcome the activity of dealing in or selling or making recasts here.

I do realize that there are people out there who have been victimized physically and I am sorry if my use of the word rape disturbs them, but it is a word and if I ceased to use words because they might bring up negative feelings in those who read what I write, then I would have an extremely limited and stilted vocabulary.
