Hujoo Mattew Box Opening

Postby takahirokumiko » Sat Jan 25, 2014 12:34 pm

I received this dollieh second hand from Janeway on the Junkyspot forum. Less than two minutes after opening the package, I knew he belonged with my crew. So, without further delay...

The box

At first, I though he came unstrung which made worried me. I've never had to put a dollieh together.

Thankfully, he was not. He was just a tight dollieh mummy.

After freeing him from the bubble wrap

Image

A close up of his face, it was at that point where I knew he was not the character that he was going to be.

Image

After a bit of difficulty and help from my mother, we got his head on, and I put in red eyes.

At a different angle.

Later...

Me: So, you're not the cat-boy you were supposed to be.
??: I'm offended that you would think that I would be a good cat.
Me: You could have been. So, who are you?

Image

??: I am Vladmyr.
Me: VLADMYR! You don't look like him.

Image

Vladmyr: Are you calling me a liar?
Me:  No

Image

Vladmyr: Good, I would have been most offended if you had.

So, this is Vladmyr, who is Torie's boyfriend.

Oh, don't you love it when they decide they aren't who you thought they were?
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

 Oh yes, that's always enjoyable. Though, I don't mind. I'm just thankful he decided this BEFORE I bought everything to make him the character he was going to be.

Congrats on the new boy!
I haven't seen too many for them. In fact, these may be the most pictures I've ever seen of one!
I wouldn't suppose you have developed any opinions about the pros and cons of the Hujoo boys yet, have you? I'd love to hear a little review if you have!

enjoy him! hujoo boys rule!

@quidam: they have the same body structure as the females i think. so they have that annoying habit with the arms not turning forward. but popping their shoulders apart at the gear helps with that. otherwise they're fantastic.

Their arms don't go forward???

Sorry, I haven't experienced the girls before either, and had never really looked into them. I've tried to look into the boys before, but, last time I looked, there was very little out there about them. Maybe I'll look into reviews of the girls for more help!

I know. I went looking for stuff about Hujoo boys when I got him, and there wasn't much of anything. So far, I think he's great. The only problems I find are in the head. The head cap, at least for the Matthew, is a pain to get on and off, and I can't seem to get it closed all the way. I would change the ring they give you to an S-hook or a bigger ring.

The Hujoo Action Dolls have have full shoulder range, it is the elbow that has limited mobility. I added mobility joints in the upper arms to one of mine. There are even easier fixes other people have done, just look for them with the search function. I really like the girls, they are affordable, fun to play with and very cute. I don't have any of the boys, but from what I have seen, they are just as much fun.

I have the girl body too for my hybrid girl and I really like the body, it has it's drawbacks but after my single jointed Resin boy...Yeah I'd buy the boy version too. (Probably get a different head for it though...Only reason I never bought a full Dana was because I didn't LOVE the head.)
