The funny thing about vows is, sometimes they get broken.
I vowed I would never buy a Monster High Doll. But I broke it and bought one. Mainly for practice for eventual ownership of a BJD.

So I had hubby take me to Wal Mart and I bought a Jinafire Long doll. I wanted a werecat, but since it's The new year and after Christmas I was left with slim pickings

So here she is:

Forgive the slouchy chair pic. I didn't want her flashing anyone, and I couldn't pose her very well in it, and her head doesn't bend down, which kinda sucks. And her dress is kind awkward, pretty, but not good for sitting poses. And ognore the random clutter and peanut gallery of dragon and wizard figures.

Monster High dolls are really addictive, and I love the Jinafire! I love your slouchy chair too!

Thanks. That slouchy chair is from when I was a kid. I'm shocked I still have it. I had a matching couch, but I lost it. I'm glad I still have my slouchy chair though

Love the pictures versora!!! Jinafire is the ONE Monster High doll that's really tempted me, besides Gil (I have some weird aquatic fetish or something, I have no idea?). I love the entire MH line but they're so expensive for dolls that I won't really be doing anything more than staring at. I'm being hypocritical because I have Medicom dolls at $200+ that just hang around in box, but Medicom has somewhat of a notorious history of being breakable, and I want my dolls to last. Is she worth the money, in your opinion?

Oh, yes. At first I hated the idea of getting one, but now that she's at my home, she grew on me. Plus I love dragons. She is a bit of a diva in the fact that she doesn't like to stand still and pose. But she makes great practice for doll posing. And thanks. Believe it or not I took those on my tablet. Which I find hilarious. my phone and my tablet take better pics than my digital camera[I'm a cheapskate, it was 50 bucks]

I haven't gotten a MH seen their first wave, but Janafire and Twyla are calling out to me. I might try for New Scaremester Janafire.

Thanks. I tried that, but apparently my computer didn't want to cooperate. I got her as a prelude to the doll I'm eventually going to own. Since MH dolls are half BJD and forgive me for saying part Barbie. Sorry if I offended anyone, but that's how I see them as a whole. I know Barbie and BJD are two totally different dolls, but if ya look at it they are kinda both.

No offense taken here!! I know what you mean about the half and half thing. They're on the cheaper end of the spectrum but they have many of the same poseablities of a BJD. Although MH would be a better training doll for an Obitsu than a resin BJD since the joints work differently. Resin, bah, too fragile for me. XDD I like my dolls ABS plastic and sturdy enough to beat someone to death with!!!

yeah. I know. I miss my old Barbies. but yeah... I at least kept two of my faves. I franken dolled them. I didn't like their bodies, but liked their heads, and well I did the Frankenstien bit. *laughs* But I didn't have the monies to buy a BJD practice doll, so I opted for a fence-sitter.

Muuuaahhaa, I think we're all frankendollers here!! Oh, I completely understand the dilemma with money. Right now I feel like I need an index for all the different things either a) catching my attention and holding it or b) things that I already have an obligation to buy that I'm locked in on (*grumble* Japanese shipping charges). What doll do you eventually want to get? Have one in mind? Since I'm partial to the 1/6 scale I admit my ignorance of most of the bigger dolls, but that doesn't mean I don't like to look at pretty pictures!
