Damiana (PIP Delilah) is on the counter drying as I type and there will be no more redoing of this doll's face up because I'm DONE.
Actually this was the best face up attempt so far. I'm probably never going to be a really, really good doll artist. I'm definitely no Noel Cruz, lol, but this is decent, I like it, and it's very close to what I had in mind for her when I began this seemingly perpetual Delilah doll face up odyssey. I think it took me about 8 tries? Even now she's admittedly not perfect but she suits me well enough and it's time to leave it alone. Every time I aim for utter perfection with this doll I end up undoing hours and hours of work and getting totally mad with myself for not stopping when I could have, at pretty decent but slightly imperfect.
After I seal her I'll probably wait a day to let her settle then try to put in eyes. I won't add the real lashes for a week or so because the last time I had as good a face up as this I really messed up the painted lashes around her eyes because the sealer wasn't properly dry when I made the attempt. I'm also thinking of trying to use a special kind of tape which I have to get at the craft store instead of glue because someone online apparently did that and it seemed to work out okay for them. I'm just not that great with glue and eyelashes otherwise so I mean to take my time and be ultra careful this time. That being said I have to get my mini tree up soon and she has to be fully painted et all to be able to wear her holiday dress and pose with the other two.
Pics here of all three when I get her done. Oh that sounds so nice. I'm pretty thrilled with that idea, of finally getting her done. It really seems I've been trying to get her painted FOREVER....
