Character Doll Help (finished-ish)

Barbie, Jenny, Fashion Royalty, Obitsu and 1/6 resins - basically anything 10-12inch/21-27cm or in the neighborhood.

22 cm is too small for Kato if the Green Hornet will be 27-29 cm. In the pic a Neo Goh is in the black shirt towards the middle and the 23 and 21 cms are on the far right. It might also mean the Medicom are more in size with Mego figures which are a different 1/8 scale.

I can upload a better picture of his face but on the left is my Hot Toys True Type Asian. He stands pretty tall but has a realistic sculpt so why not find a smaller Green Hornet with the same kind of neck and have them switch heads?

With the official GH dolls I keep running into masks stuck to face thing. Oh well. Since I'm going for the radio age look I have a bit more freedom. GH didn't wear all green back then and I get to embody who I see when I listen to the shows. So some wiggle room there.

I might snap and post a picture of my current GH together with my 27cm obistu and Liv Jake.

S.S. figures make a few Asian heads. You might want to check them out.

Ahhhhh, well for Kato I know the Enterbay doll's mask comes on and off of his face, his hat comes off and hair pops on in its place with magnets, if that helps at all for Kato!! :? He's basically pre-made Kato with all the accessories and whatnot, but if you're looking to build Kato from scratch, I'm at a loss. Personally I could see making really good "grab bag" (did I use this phrase before in here last time? I think I did? XDD) customs in that you perhaps say, take the RAH set and pop on Enterbay's Kato head, and buy the Captain Action costumes and plop the GH costume on your PTE guy, but I have NO idea as to the level of customization you want. I'm a "path of least resistance" kind of gal. If something is presented to me on a silver platter, I'll take it (i.e. "Change the hairstyle and expression of this guy and pop a few buttons and you essentially have this other character"), and I only do what I feel I need to do in order to make the custom I want. :) Unfortunately most times that's a full custom anyway!! One of them is a Big Money Project because I need to pay someone $300+ for a custom 1/6 sculpted head, there's no way around it. *Sigh* My sculpting skills are nowhere within the realm I want to make myself happy with this head.

Oh, speaking of, depending on what you want to drop, having a custom head made is an idea as well. :)

Oh, also, the Medicom dolls are on the RAH 220 bodies, which are definitely on a different scale than the Obitsu 21-21cm bodies, but they're also rather small, you are correct Dollykim!! The head of an RAH 220 rests at about chest-neck level of a regular Medicom RAH doll. These dolls shouldn't be so hard to kitbash, I swear.

Here's my 27cm obitsu and Liv Jake with GH. This is mustly just for me. My main thing I guess I'm looking for help on now is just the size difference.

Working with the height difference in the serial might be better choice.

The HTTT Asian head isn't any bigger than the PTE's but he has a full neck instead of the no neck the white shirt would take. Otherwise it looks like it will work.

Haha, don't hurt meeeee but honestly, I think the 27cm Obitsu works best (except...if you went for it I'd get the "regular" colour--unless that is the regular colour one and he's being colour-bleached next to such tan dolls! XD) in terms of height difference if we're just going off of the picture you supplied at the bottom of your post. The Obitsu also fits in with Kato's slimmer, smaller build (I've never watched the series but I could swear I read somewhere that he's basically the 'real' hero, sometimes used to comedic effect? Perhaps I'm mixing up series.)....Not sure!! The height difference isn't going to be that great between any of the other bodies once you add on a head, but sculpting and/or rooting out a hairstyle on the Obitsu would give him that bit of extra height, and he hits around where it looks like Kato does on the photo...I don't have a perfect solution and I'm not sure if you're looking for extra-beefy Kato or more slim and streamlined Kato. Also, if you have a specific head in mind?

I still like the Jakes body and Ken head idea. You could easily repaint the head.

I think a Ken head would look good on the Jake body too, but I think Gift_in_Edge is really going for some sort of specific height difference, and isn't Ken's head going to essentially make the Jake body just a tiny bit shorter than the PTE Green Hornet custom she made? *Is so confused!! *

MC- The Ken's head on the Jake's body would be about the right size next to a Ken's body or any 12" doll.
