What faux leather would you recommend for custom clothes?

Barbie, Jenny, Fashion Royalty, Obitsu and 1/6 resins - basically anything 10-12inch/21-27cm or in the neighborhood.

ShadowKat I would use some red Ritt's Fabric dye on the deep chocolate colour, only leave it in for a little bit (the longer the soak the more the colour is soaked up) and then make sure to (following directions) give the suede a good wash or two to get rid of extra dye. Failing that, I don't see the issue with trying either an alcohol based marker in red and running it over the suede once or twice or trying some really watered down artist's acrylics. I think Fabric dye would be the best permanent answer though. :)

Okay just a quick update everyone, I bought some ultrasuede, and it is indeed VERY soft and durable, but in my humble opinion, it looks a little more like calfskin than tanned leather. It's got an upside and a downside. It's definitely not very shiny/armour like, which is fine, I don't need my armour to shine like tinfoil, but I'd say its EXTREMELY matte (it feels and looks very smooth and buttery soft) as far as materials trying to mimic leather go. I have yet to try it out on a doll that needs armour, but right now I'd say this is better for materials requiring a calfskin look, like fake animal hide, or the oldschool armour that actually WAS made out of leather, etc. I'm thinking pleather might be the way to go for hardcore "Lets fake this metal armour using other materials" thing. I've studied other dolls of mine that have fake "metal" armour parts and it looks to be pleather material. Can't be sure until I pick up some, but I'm pretty confident that is what it fake armour is made out of. :)

Errr...okay, like...just...random armour? The stuff I'm making is pretty character specific, what size is the armour and what kind of armour is it? :)
