Living with a smoker

Well MC The house does have a basement..... how about smoking dungeon? kidding. I don't even think I can fit him in a roach motel. I'll still do the box in the bag in the air tight container. Because smells tend to travel.... Lucky me the house i like has two stories.

versora Haha, actually a smoking dungeon would be great if it has windows. Is it the type of basement that has ground-level windows? He can open those up and smoke under them. Also, is the house two stories plus the basement, or two stories including the basement? If it's two stories plus the basement I think you'll find confining hubby to the upper level (or the basement, depending, but since smoke smell rises you may want to confine smoking activities upstairs and your doll downstairs to keep them as far apart as possible) might cut down on the general cloying, smoky feel of the downstairs, which I assume would be the entertainment/living area? I feel bad that you have to go through such drastic measures to keep your doll smoke free!! Smoking is such a pain in the ass, even smokers agree!! THE MONEY. Oh man, it's like you have an invisible dependent living in your house, and his name is Marlboro.

Yeah, really, I agree to that invisible dependantMC. It has two stories plus the basement level, and the door to said basement is a trap dor on the back porch. I'm sure it has ground level windows. And we can enclose the back porch for a smoking area as well. It's a colonial styled home built in the 1800s I think. very old house. But I love it. It has narrow steep stairs, so if I fall, less likely for me to break my neck. It also has a fireplace down stairs. But I know better than to play with dolls when a fire is going. I'll have a room upstairs all to my self for crafting and what not. in fact all the rooms are upstairs.

Wow, versora, the house your looking at sounds absolutely lovely!!! And absolutely perfect to cordon off your hubby with crime scene tape when he smokes. Hah, in all seriousness though, is he okay with your concerns and you wanting him to smoke in one area only? The basement sounds like a really good place to do it, beneath a ground level window. If he's completely okay with it (and if he is--you snagged a good one! ) then it sounds like this house will be perfect for the both of you. And oh, you getting your own upstairs to do crafty things!! <333 I love old style houses and the one you're scoping out just sounds lovely. *__*

Wish me luck. I'm gonna need all the luck I can get. We need a loan to get said house. I just hope HUD approves a nice sizable loan. I will not tolerate a two bedroom house. Not after living in a teeny tiny s-hole apartment. All of us are at each other's throats as it is because the apt is damned cramped.

Thanks. So far we have to go to various places for low income families to get loans. That's gonna be a load of fun. And I do not want a two bedroom place.

Aww, sorry sweetie. I know what a pain in the ass government assistance is. *Sigh* We still need to renew our foodstamps but dread going to sit down at the welfare office. I wish you all the luck in the world! Here's hoping you find a house you can love.

That's great versora!!! ^____^ I think "trailer homes" get a bad rap. I used to vacation in one, and while ours was pretty standard, it was still cozy and we loved snuggling into it for the summer, and the place in Maryland where we went to vacation, many of the residents lived in their trailers year round and some of the trailers were just breath-taking, as beautiful as any house I've ever seen. They weren't overdone "million dollar trailer homes" or anything either, they were just nice homes, so I can definitely see the appeal. Does the trailer home look like a pretty good match for you and your family or are you still in that "looking at my options" stage?
