BJD fantasy parts?

Postby Marionette » Wed Feb 26, 2014 4:46 am

I'm looking for fantasy parts that are sold separately (not ones that come with an existing doll): animal and elf ears/horns/tails/wings/etc. that attach with a magnet, leg pieces to swap out, that kind of thing. Most of the ones I've come across are sold out, and I haven't come across that many.

Scale doesn't matter, although stuff for 1/4s and 1/3s would be especially appreciated. Seems more scarce than 1/6 parts.

Resin Soul sells three types of horns, SoulDoll has also horns, Soom has many different parts, but they don't sell them separately (you still might find them from ebay or some site like DoA), Luts has some animal ears and such and so does LeekeWorld, and I think DOllZone has also some fantasy parts separately sold.

I also recommend to browse Etsy for handmade ones (there is wings atleast) and ebay for secondhaned parts.

Soom is a no-go in this case; I'm not a member of DoA and the parts I have seen pop up on ebay tend to be terribly expensive anyway. I'm looking more for stuff specifically sold separately because it tends to be a looot more cost-effective.

I have seen Resindoll's horns. That's the sort of thing I'm looking for exactly. Thanks for reminding me about Souldoll, too.

DZ doesn't have much, unfortunately, just one pair of horns and a couple of ears for two specific sculpts of theirs (made to slot into the head, so kinda hard to use elsewhere). I wish they had some as I'm trying to justify buying enough to get their free doll right now, and there's no easy way for me to do it and get only things I actually want. :P

Most of Luts's parts seem to be for their Zuzu Delf (19cm) and all I've seen are sold out, sadly. That's what I mean -- a lot of places made them at some point but don't currently. Most of Leeke's are sold out too -- almost if not everything for 1/4 and 1/3 size. P:

edit: Oh yeah, and thanks for the etsy reminder. Silverbeam has a few nice things.

Zirconmermaid's ears are available from Junkyspot. I have a pair of the MSD ears and they are really cute. You can find them in the clothing section.

yessss... the ears ARE awesome!

I was going to say Soom parts rock but yeah, they're really pricey. I paid 100 bucks for a pair of werewolf feet, have yet to use them. Ha.

I think it would be cool for a sculptor to make and sell nothing but these kinds of parts at reasonable prices, they'd probably make a killing. If I had any talent at sculpting and doing resin casts and such, I'd be tempted.

Those ears are very cute. Simple but reasonably-priced, just the way I like it. xD I've seen cat ears one or two other places I can't recall right now, too... hmm, I'll have to see if I can dig them up. Will post them if I do.

I agree, Trethowan. I think they'd do very well. Silverbeam, whom I should probably link for those unfamiliar, does a little of that, 3D printed. Wish they'd do more, their work is pretty cool, but it is again limited to mostly horns as far as option parts go.

edit: Looks like this person has, in addition to horns (some tentacle horns, which I love xD), a pair of hooves for Delf boys type 3 and 4. By the artist's own admission the cast needs work, and they're expensive as it is, but this shows promise for sure! I hope they keep working at it because I have a very powerful need for some unicorn BJDs.

edit: Some rather cute horns here, pictured on MSDs, Monster High, and others! I have got to get a set of those octopus arms. Or ten.

I'd just like to add that Resinsoul will sell any part separately, you just have to send your order to Sun via email.

That's good to know! It would be great, for example, to get Sui's dragon parts to put on a female doll (although I'm reminded that I just want a Sui as is too, head and all... no, no more dollies right now, not even "less expensive" ones! xD).

I am at a total loss right now for the name, but there is a company that used to make faun legs and horns and even ballet feet for at least the Yo-SD sized bjds.....not Daisy Days, but a different company and I soooo cannot remember the name - which is sad since I have a set of their hooves for one of my girls.

I know I used to see them on ebay all the time.....maybe someone else can remember who I am talking about.

Peapod

They are on ebay, just search Peapod BJD.

They also have their own website, but you might feel more secure getting stuff through ebay.
