Ohh, thank you both for clearing that up. It really is a shame Ken didn't get more poseable options. I love all the hybrids Maywong makes with them though. :D Seeing those and the creativity behind them definitely makes up (for me at least, I know there are a lot of Ken fans who really wish they had a better articulated doll and I completely agree) for the loss of articulation in Ken bodies. :) I have to resist asking Maywong to dissect each and every photo story she does and tell me the headscupt and body sculpt of each one, and oh by the way, selling any?

Checked out the Triad EVO body, I like it. It's pretty muscular though...seems like the only thinner guys are anime guys that cost an arm and a leg. Although I have to chuckle, has anyone ever thought how strange our hobby can be? Not in a negative way, I just...well, the Triad search also offered results for their "Otaku" body, and I'm pretty sure it has "squishy breasts". They're sadly not the only ones I've run across (of all things, some six inch ACTION FIGURES I collect has them as a gimmick), but I always wonder who actually buys these things for that purpose!

MayWong I went and re-read some of the past posts. I'll be keeping Sulu around but just not as Kato. (And if I don't rename him soon him might stay Sulu.)

I just won a GI Joe Foreign Soldiers Collection Japanese Army- Airforce Officer on Ebay. If he doesn't work for Kato, I going to have to suck it and save to have a custom Obitsu done.

JAAFO has a rounder face. He may be able to pull off a "Charlie Chan..."

He works! He's shorter then Britt. He just needs a little clean up. I don't know if he should have painted hair to a wig.

Acrylic paint works for hair, I did that to one of my Volks guys and it looks like he has a short hair cut. The only drawback is a hat might rub it off but you can always touch it up.

I've used white glue and roving wool on a couple of guys with short thick wavy hair but I don't think it would work with a hat.

Definitely hold off on any hair until you have his hat and work from there.

Hmnn, that's an excellent base for Kato!! :) Have you considered sculpted hair perhaps? I think it depends more on what the hat is going to be made out of. If the hat is cloth than a strong sculpt may work nicely (and will fit with Britt as well!) but if it is plastic...mmm, no sure there! From the pictures in the thread Kato seems to have a bit of a "signature cut", perhaps sculpting out that look will make the sculpt read even more as Kato? :D

At least for now I breathe a sigh of relief at having them both in doll form. I'm going to wait for yard sale season to work on their outfits and hope I have some good finds.

Thanks everyone for all your help!
