The Basic B has the Harley D. mold. Ryan is a different mold from Blaine.
The GG Blaine is different from the other Blaine's molds I think. I have the top guy, HD, and Kurt.

Kattis' page is really good reference too, although Ryan and fashionista ken seem to be missing. (It's in Swedish but it's mostly just a list of the names so should be pretty easy to navigate anyway):

I have a really hard time seeing the similarity with Flavas Liam, but that doesn't mean mattel didn't call him blaine at some point. Ryan and Harley are definitely separate sculpts (if I'm not mistaken, harley was used for Edward Cullen).

Here's ryan and generation girl blaine (the only ones i have atm):

I'd love to see a comparison in profile of generation girl blaine vs cali guy/tango, since some differences are easier to spot from that angle.

Basically I would love to have a generation guy blaine with articulation and the new neck, but Tango seems like an acceptable substitute.

I was thinking a bit about what exactly constitutes a new facemold vs a modification of an old one. From what I understand mattel may tweak a mold a bit, enough that it warrants a new serial number (which ManBehindTheDoll lists) but not enough that you might notice the difference. So the subjective definition vs mattel's might differ a bit, and that might be why people end up debating e.g. whether Twilight guys Carlisle and Emmet have the same mold or not.

But this is mainly speculation since i don't actually own most of these molds and can't check for myself. (That's one of the reasons I want a Tango face ken, because as people have said there's at least some difference between him and early blaine.)

There is a difference between the early Blaine and later Blaine. BTW Carlisle and Emmet are the same mold.

There were different Flavas guys called Liam, I have four of them, and they have a slightly different mold that's all their own. I just forget if he was Liam as well because I named him Maxwell.

Looking at Ryan he has a slightly different nose from the tan and curly Blaines, I just can't quite tell if Kurt is one of the old Blaines too.

Kurt is the same as the tan and curly Blaine, but different from the first pix. Blaine.

Yeah, generation girl blaine and cali guy blaine are a bit different. Carlisle and Emmet look the same to me (in photos), but I've seen people claiming they're different. I'm mostly speculating as to why that might be.

I'd say ryan has a bigger jaw as well, probably fuller lips too. Cali guy blaine/tango might have some of those features as well? As soon as i get one I'll have to do some comparison shots in profile.

Thanks for helping with Kurt. The thinner eyebrows really change him.

The bridge of Ryan's nose looks thinner and the tip a bit rounder. His face seems more egg shape but under the mouth looks more round. He's still a hunky plastic guy and I'm glad they're changing the boys up a bit.

Ryan's not a bad looking guy, that's for sure. :)

The weird thing about Generation Girl Blaine is he's supposed to be a high school student, but his facemold makes him look at least 30.
