Vetinari wrote:...And sniffle yep the I'm Proud of the BBC song is even more topical of late what with even more budget cuts... I have a soft spot for BBC3 and it will be missed, even if I haven't watched that much on there of late it spawned The Mighty Boosh, Being Human, Casanova, Torchwood, Doctor Who Confidential, Gavin & Stacey, Mongrels and so much more sigh... And of course the wonderful BBC4 is at risk as is Aunty herself... ARGH!!! (WTF successive governments wtf once it's gone it's gone forever you utter utter idiots, and the hypocritical champagne socialists who resent Aunty Beeb but happily pay out thousands for Sky wtf ¬.¬)
First of all; I love your username- the Discworld books are some of the best that I have ever read, and Vetinari himself is magnificent, so I take my hat off to you, sir/ma'am/preferred pronoun of choice here.
Secondly, I utterly agree with what you're saying re: the budget cuts. And interestingly, although they're slashing the budget given to the Beeb, the TV License which goes a good bit of the way towards funding it is
not being lowered. In fact, I think there's another rise due. Am not sure, didn't pay close attention to the latest Budget; I found myself too bogged down in the mud with all the rubbish that was being said.
Anyway! Music! Tim Minchin! He's great, y'know, even wrote the music for
Matilda: the Musical. Here, have a couple of songs from that.
Matilda on Children in Need; features Naughty, Revolting Children, and When I Grow Up. I have such love for this music, I can't even. It's just... listen, you'll understand.
Also, have some from the
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical. This clip features It Must Be Believed To Be Seen, Vidiots and Pure Imagination.
