Volks sale - did you get anything?

I didn't get the doll I wanted, sadly. I kept trying to get various 1\6 bodies and heads, and kept getting messages that they were not available.

I had the doll I wanted in my cart, but it took so long to realize that there were no bodies or heads, and then to add all the clothes (I got tons of them) that when I checked out the doll was yanked from my cart. I had 3 girls in my cart to start with, and got just one.

I really wanted the Who's That Girl Kana with honey blond hair. I love her side-glancing eyes and her side swiped bangs. I am getting a lonely Century Model doll, but really wanted the girl next door too.

Did you get the doll you wanted? They had amazing deals on 1\6 and deals on other sizes too.

If anyone has a Kana with the blond hair and the side swiped bangs, I would be willing to pay for her, or set up a trade. I'll be listing some of my Monster High dolls for sale or trade in the next couple of days.

There were some 1/6 WTG outfits I like. But I'm out of their shipping zone, the longwinded way to get 1/6 stuff and DD parts would not be worth it.

Oh and I have to save up for my other doll, self control needed

I'm really sad. I wanted to get heads and bodies for my dolls and my sister's dolls, but ALL of them were sold out as soon as the site opened for me. I was there waiting all night and all morning, and as soon as it opened, even before the sale prices came up, they were just gone. I couldn't believe it, they were such a good deal, too. I don't know how I'll get them all now.

Iwa Hoshi, I agree that it is unfair that the sale was US only, especially when 1\6 is discontinued.

Turkish Delight, I was also upset that I could not buy hheadsand bodies. I thought that they took down the site to update inventory. If they had no bodies or heads for sale, they should not have been listed. Maybe try Obitsu from Junky Spot.

Whew! It was a mad dash!! At exactly 2 PM EST, I quickly rammed as many dolls into my cart as possible. I managed to add 75 dolls at 90% off!! (I.E. Getting $185 dolls for $18.50 each or $64 dolls for $6.40 each!!!) I did it as quickly as I could but guess it wasn't quite fast enough as when I clicked 'order now', they informed me that 20 of the dolls I'd ordered were sold out in that time. (Within 6 minutes!) The biggest loss in these 20 were the 6 'Takeru' Neo Goh Guy dolls that were just $3.90 each!!!! I didn't end up with any! :cries: Imagine Neo Goh Guys for $3.90.....

It's painful because my sis kept telling me to check out with just the Takerus in the cart, but I was like, 'let me just add a few more to save on s/h....' and after 6 minutes of grabbing dolls, I lost all 6 Takerus!

That's regrettable but at least I got 55 other dolls at 90% off!

The bad news is that ALL the custom hair heads were already gone and all the blank doll bodies, too. I was there at 2PM EDT (11AM PDT) as soon as they opened up and these parts were ALREADY all gone. They didn't have ANY available. Why keep the links up then? I know that the Takeru and Yamato links were removed around 2:15 PM, so it's possible for them to do it! Did they leave the links just to tease us?! I really wanted as many heads as possible and I ended up with 0. (Well, I did get 10 if you count the Lost Angels dolls I managed to snag.)

The only heads/bodies items left at all were the 'finished' dolls, so those were what I ended up with. I managed to order 10 anime headed dollfies (Lost Angels); 2 sculpted/molded hair dollfies; 15 Kana/Mami WTG? dollfies; and 28 Century Model/HaniKami dollfies.

It's a lot at once, (too much, actually!) but it was 90% off and too good a deal to pass up! We rely on Volks and Obitsu parts for our commission work, so losing Volks completely now is a big hit as most of the heads we use are the Volks heads. (For our anime work, they're preferable to the Obitsu/Parabox.) I'd rather they DIDN'T have this big clearance closeout sale, actually, so we can continue to count on them to buy custom hair heads, etc from when needed! Once my stock of heads is depleted, we won't be able to obtain any more Volks heads now!

Hopefully, Volks.co.jp will still be offering them for a while but it's bad that we haven't as many choices for customizations. ^^;; :sighs:

I'll focus on the fact I just managed to get quite a few dolls at a HUGE discount! ^^ I plan to get some of the upfront costs back by selling their outfits which we don't want/need.

When all else fails try the international Volks website. It might be hit or miss. But you could also email them and ask if they would restock. At least they would know that people still want their 1/6

Volks USA FB page mentioned some kind of web store error. Keep refreshing on and off.

Im actually planning on making a pilgrimage to Torrance CA to visit the volks store maybe this year. Although they probably wont have a sale, it'll be hella fun to go. Ok...ok...so the fact I have family in LA is the main factor for my trip, but its a nice bonus factor. Anyone wanna come with?! Lol

You might want to take note of VolksUSA blog/FB/twitter/etc before you set a date. They were closing down their LA branch hence all the fanfare and huge sale. I don't know when or where in the USA would they set up shop again

I did not get any bodies or heads or wigs ; ; I only got a few pairs of eyes and 2 of the 1/6 boy hats for my 1/12 tiny boys. I did not know there was a sale yesterday I just went there on a whim to look for a pair of eyes I had been checking them like once a month to make sure they still had dolls and was unaware they were going to do a clearance like that. I would have loved some wigs for my tinies and some of the lost angels dolls. and one of the 2, 1/6 whos that girl boys as my oldest would have loved any of those but oh well ;( I got a good deal on 5 pairs of eyes and 2 hats for 22 shipped.

I bought a bunch of outfits and a few of the fukubukuros. I had a doll body in my cart, but it was one of the items gone before I could check out. Things went waaay too fast. T_T And I was refreshing the page waiting for the shop to become available, lolz! I'm hoping the fukubukuros at least have a good body to make up for not being able to get at least one female body, lol~

I still hold out hope I can get a Goh Guy 03 second hand one day, hehe~

I DID, however, finally purchase some metallic eyes for my boy Bríean! YAY!
