Thanks for the great tips. These are all really fantastic ideas. I think I might gather the supplies for both attempts. May the best wig win! haha...
VV, that wig you made looks fabulous. Thank you for the offer but I think I'll try for a lighter color. A dirty-blond version for Jim would be pretty sweet! I don't have any woodburning tools but surely I could find one cheap enough.
I'm quite excited about these ideas, folks!! Once this big boy has hair he can join in the photostories!! It's been over a year now, I'm itching to get my little goofy stories back on track. (well, as soon as I clear out a place in the office for them. I'm still not unboxed yet. Meh.)
EDIT: I bought the blondest goat hide the guy had, plus a pound of scrap fur just for kicks. From the Bear shop, I bought a few different 9x9" pieces of bear fur. There were several different piles and types so I got an assortment of tans and blonds, along with a few different length piles to be safe. With so many options, Jim may end up with several wigs. Surely out of all these I'll end up with at least one that works!
Say, VV... what method of sewing the leather hide wig did you find to work best? Do you think I'll need to pick up any special needles or thread?
Thanks again for the helpful tips, guys!
