Cthulhu isn't usually drawn with a tail, but in the books it's usually dragon-like, since it would be used to counterbalance more than anything. here's a pic of the big guy: http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... thulhu.jpg

as to her style, i'm still picking around with ideas. can't afford fabric yet so i'm not in a rush. the only issue i'm really having is that clothes in lovecraft's era and location were fairly puritan. so it's thinking of how to make the clothes look right while having to accommodate for wings with flaps and stuff. the tail just adds more complications to that, so i am thinking of doing either something magnetic (which would mean weight-considerations), or if i mount it to the body, poseability.
i'm almost tempted to try making it, having joints mounted to a wireframe, but i need to get stuff to make some test-run materials so i don't waste the good putty. i'm very much a brain-dweller before i start on stuff.

as to where i dump things, i have a deviantart that i'm just starting up, before it used to be LJ. still gotta fix my signatures at the forums for the change but it's http://sieadlr.deviantart.com/gallery/
the blue guy is getting remodded though. i find i'm not really spending any time with him in his current incarnation.

i did end up making her shoes, since having them in a simple style that still showed off her talons left me with this type of design i know i wanted to make.
did a copper and leather blend look, since i know any buttons and stuff on her clothes i want to make brass/copper/etc. not for steampunk or anything, those tones just suit the era better to me.

Like the shoes!

And those colours also have the advantage of looking stunning with green :)

(As for the rpg - I briefly tried to play a journalist in one game - I think she lasted one session, maybe a bit into the next!)

thanks!
yeah, it's a decent rpg, but i don't think i'll get to play for a while. the group is doing one of those massive dungeon crawlers at the moment, so i opted out from the sheer boredum. i needs storylines! lol.
update: kinda kicked around with an outfit, made from fabric scraps. i like it, though it's totally rough done, but it's fun.
forgot to take a pic of the back of the shirt before i added the blue overtop. it's basically 5 pieces that join in the back over one button to have the strips wrap around her wings.

ended up not having to work from home today, so got some sewing done. clothes are made from scraps of old shirts >.<

kinda like having her in pink. while clothes from that era tended to be more... flamboyant, it makes sense to me to have her look more like a country girl, since a lot of the mythos takes place in small towns like dunwich or innesmouth.

I love her outfits - they do have the right feel for smaller, probably less sophisticated (in terms of not having the latest fashions etc) towns of the era. And she does look really good in the pink outfit.

My first experience of RPGs was an interminably long dungeon crawler - nearly put me off for life!

urgh. i just can't stand crawlers anymore.
that's one thing i do like about CoC, you are forced to actually roleplay!
i'm liking pathfinder quite a bit though. some of their campaigns are really awesome. and hubs picks up the randomest games sometimes too. he recently got a post-apocalyptic barbarian book, and is working on writing a campaign involving kaiju and nuke aftermath.

You're work on her clothes is stunning! Great outfit concepts, she looks great in both and I would love to see the back of the shirt. The little details like the pearls really make the outfits.

I am so used to MH dolls in skimpy clothing, I had not realized what good models they are. You are making me think about my collection in new ways. Thanks!

thanks :) they are actually really neat to mess around with.

for the shirt thing: the white one is a series of straps in the back that all hook over the one button, to cover over her wings. it's the collar part, then two straps that cross up under the wings along her sides. after that, two cross over the wings, and then the big part from the bottom hides all the smaller straps. the pink part starts at the back, criss-crosses her wings, and then is just tucked into the waistband at the front of the overdress. the sash just helps hide the waistband and makes it look like one piece.
sorry for the stand in the way, she actually needs it because the wings are metal and make her topple easily.

figured rather than start a whole new thread, i would just keep popping Lovecraft-inspired monster-high dolls into this thread.
next i'll be working on a King in Yellow-inspired Hastur doll made from a draculaura.
already inverted her mouth to make room for a cavernous mouth :D

edit: i think i'll be doing her in disco-era clothes. excuse for sparkly-gold lycra. lol.
