Questions about a second doll.

Postby Oliiviine » Sun Jul 27, 2014 8:40 pm

I really want to get a second doll, but I have one problem.
Which doll, the Hujoo Freya, or the Mystic Kids Vanetta? My main concerns are which is better for a newer doll owner, as my only doll right now is my first, Shuri. She's a 27cm soft bust Obitsu! But in any case, I can't decide between the two models. I really like the Vanetta, but the Freya is also so adorable! I have a weakness for cats, hah. That, and I need to ve able to have a relative design for the doll I get. After all, it's good for them to have a personality, name, and clothes, right? (Even if they are in sock clothes. >>) Thoughts?

One is more expensive than the other, so that could be a factor for you, but if not then you need to decide which one you would prefer. You already have 27cm Obitsu and I am assuming is a normal human looking doll? I don't think you would be able to share the clothing with the Freya unless the clothing gives so it stretches, but I am not sure on this as I have not tried to share clothing with a Freya doll before. I know for sure you wouldn't be able to share clothing with the Vanetta and 27cm Obitsu. Do you have a design/character planned out for either of the two dolls you are considering? I know I am not being much help here, but I don't want to tell you which one to get. I am trying to give you some things to think on to maybe help you decide.

Basing on my Hujoo owner experience, Freya will probably need some "tunings" (deciding how to fix the tail magnets, a restring...) that probably Vanetta will not need. You will get her with a face-up or have to do the face-up for both those doll?
For a newer doll owner doing a face-up for the first time, especially on ABS plastic like the one Hujoo are made, can be tricky. But if you have already made face-ups and already have the supplies it can't be relevant.

If you have a cat weakness get the Freya.

When I got in to buying dolls I never thought about any of them being "starter" dolls or if one was more "complicated" than the other. I just wanted the doll. I mix realistic with Animae looking, big head, animal head, anyone I want.

I have an MK Vanetta, and she is beautiful. I also have a Hujoo Freyr, and he's also beautiful. I'm also unable to decide who I like better, sorry I cannot help you more.

If you want to get a doll with a beautiful faceup I'd choose the Vanetta, because her default faceup is absolutely gorgeous. You also get free eyes. Her body is also adorable chubby and her hands are kinda large. Freyas are pretty nice I've heard, especially after they had the headcap issue resolved, and from my experience they fit Moxie Girlz clothes and some Bratz (mostly the Bratz Boys) clothes.

Hope I was able to help you in any way, but I adore both dolls.

I wasn't really considering sharing the clothing, they'd each get their own. And not really, I'm afraid if I made a design for both, I'd want both! ><

Oh dear, the Freya might give me some troubles then, as I'm not quite sure how to restring a doll. I'd be able to buy the Vanetta with a faceup. Then again, I could always have a friend do the faceup as well. (Yanagi-sen's faceups are wonderful, she did Shuri's and I still love it!)

Ah, that's good to know! I was afraid the default faceup would be something I wanted to change, since I have absolutely no faceup experience whatsoever, haha. Although, knowing that they fit those clothes gives me an idea for a punk-ish Freya and I'm very weak to punk styles. And yes, you did help! And so do I, both the models are adorable.

Thanks to you all though! I appreciate it.
