I broke my foot last month and still was working nine hour days, six days a week. Now that things have just started to slow down I'm trying to recuperate and do things other than work and sleep.

Thanks. It was really, really dumb. I was walking out to the parking structure at work and tripped in the middle of the road. I rolled my ankle so bad I fractured it. I really don't even know how I possibly pulled that off. It's getting a lot better than it was and I finally don't have the giant boot on anymore.

I did that back in 2004. May 25th, at 12:00 midnight to be exact. I think it was a Wednesday. I was wearing some platform sandals (bad idea) and tripped over a roll of carpet. I didn't break anything, but it wrenched all my ligaments so badly that it threw me out of martial arts forever. No more tournaments. I was depressed for three years after that stupid fall. Damn sandals. It still bothers me. The physical therapist told me I'd have been better off if I'd just broken the bone. Maybe your break is a good thing in disguise?

I'm sorry to hear about that. I can't imagine having something like that happen if I were athletic. That's really rough. :/

I was told that a break could have been better than the alternative by people too. I was really lucky through the whole thing with so many people helping me out. I live in Memphis, but for my job this summer they set me up in a third floor apartment in St. Louis. When it happened. People I didn't know helped me a ton. Someone carried me to my car. I got to the apartment, but had to park a block away due to a poor parking design so someone just volunteered to drive me to by my apartment. One of the girls that lived near by carried me up all the stairs to my apartment. I'm lucky I'm small. I don't know what I would have done otherwise. But, anyway.. I as really overwhelmed by the all the help total strangers give me. That and I was able to get a really good doctor there that did a great job getting me in working order. It could have been a much worse situation.
