What are your Halloween plans?

Postby Trethowan » Wed Oct 01, 2014 9:49 am

Anyone have fun plans for Halloween?

I found all the requisite materials for a Jareth and Toby costume. Pirate shirts, grey yoga pants, and vests are reasonably priced on Amazon. If I go the Sarah route I'll con my husband into being Jareth. LOL

I was thinking of throwing a party that Friday or Saturday night but my sister REALLY wants me to drive down to Atlanta for Halloween. /sigh. Driving with baby is not easy, nor is messing with nap schedules. I'm not sure what I'll do.

Our local doll group is having Dolloween on October 11th.
I plan to wear Steampunk to school on Halloween and to Trunk or Treat at my church that night-If I can still stand to have the corset on.

That sounds fun! I can't handle a corset for very long. I like air too much. Ha ! I thought about bringing my Knockout robot rig to our Trunk or Treat but it would be impossible to hold my baby with it so I might skip it and just dole out candy in the neighborhood. Or drive to Atlanta. Decisions, decisions.

Ok. I take it all back. Sorry Labyrinth. While out shopping today I found the cutest little dragon costume EVER. I'm going to spam you with pictures! We'll do the damsel in distress, dragon, and knight theme. I love the classics. He peed on me in Ross so I had a wet shirt half the day. Usually I carry the big diaper bag with a change of clothes for just such an occasion, but this time I just tucked a diaper and travel wipe pack in my purse. I was only going to be out an hour. Maybe I should get him a puppy costume and I could be a fire hydrant. hahahahahaha

Explaining to Xavier why no one came to his birthday party. No doll friends out this way and I only hear of other peoples' plans after.

I will be wearing a school appropriate Black Widow costume. Then on the weekend I'll be visiting my druid grove to celebrate Samhain. I haven't decided if I'll wear my costume again or my celtic garb.

Can you get her a second pair of hands for gloves and/or a second pair of Ada hands and paint them black to look like gloves?

School appropriate costumes are hard to find, it seems! ha. I looked at costumes online and most of them are just an excuse to dress sexy. :-p

Nuuuu...

I'm lucky to have three doll friends in town. <3 Though technically I turned them all. Like a vampire!

She might not get the unfused fingers hand until next year. So its either bracers or RE2 costumes for this year's test run. Kinda aiming to get the RE crew ready for next year's F1 street race cages since I skip the F1 time release cage utilisation this year.

I work part time at our local library and we always dress up, usually as a group. This year, in spite of my protests, the boss gave into pressure to have us all wear our jammies. A) I don't wear jammies...only ratty old gowns that I sweat in because I still get night sweats with my menopause and B) even if I did wear jammies, it's too hot at work to wear a big nightgown or silly footies. (Yes, the two ladies who INSISTED on jammies are tall and thin. I am short and round.) So in revenge, I'm going to use Wilde Imagination's Evangeline Ghastly as a model and I'm making a satiny long gown in a black to red ombre colors, probably sleeveless and then over it I will have a lace robe that has a spider pattern all over it. It will be a simple wrap robe with longish sleeves. Then, if the underbust corset I ordered arrives in time, I will add some lace and roses to it and wear it over the robe.

I really wanted to have everyone choose a genre to represent so I could do Steampunk, but maybe next year.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Steampunk would be pretty cool. Had the chance to see some folks wearing it at a con last year. But they didn't return to booth again this year. Would love to have grab some stuff from them.
