First Ever DS Sew-Along!

They're too sexy for their clothing - but they have to wear them anyway! Did you buy it? Did you make it? Who cares - let'm strut their stuff here!

I've decided!
(I might change my mind :P )
Top left is the doll - a Lillycat Ninon.
Underneath her is an MHD Designs dress which I'm going to do as a skirt in the 6 paisley fabrics.
To the right of her is a Grace Faerie corset, which will be done in the plain(ish) magenta - there's a self coloured woven design in it that you can barely see.

I just bought this shoes for Asha, my 5SD Ji, and I want to sew her a matching, lolitesque dress. I plan to use the same cotton skirt I harvested to make Dahlia's nightgown:

Shortncuddly - Oh, looks like a really cute outfit - can't wait to hear how it goes :) I've got a few gracefaerie patterns myself but I've not actually used one yet.
Mitisfeles - Welcome to the party :) I think it sounds like you've got a lovely outfit planned!

My project Update!
No pictures yet - I've successfully scanned and done a preliminary resizing of the pattern pieces. This will be an interesting project because the original pattern I'm working from is "unprinted", meaning no sewing marks or anything written on the pattern. Instead it was all done by different combinations of holes punched into the tissue! Fortunately the pattern layout pieces actually include the dot markings - soooo convenient as I'd prefer not to have to consult the rather fragile pattern pieces.

next step, which I can't do today because I just discovered that my cat Micheletto decided to destroy the roll of paper towels I use to do first fittings >< One or two claw marks, no problem, shredded down to the tube - definitely not useable >< Ah well, I needed a new roll anyway I suppose. In reading through the instructions I already see a change I may make -because it looks like the ruffle is one sided with just a hem on the outer edge. I don't like the idea of that at all - so I may make it doubled instead.

Here's my update, at least this is the plan. I'll be using this dress pattern from Martha Boers of AntiqueLilac. I really like it's simple style. As it's sized to fit the Narae doll, I'll have to adjust it somewhat to fit a Soulkid. The first step will be to make a mock up of the bodice, to see how it fits.

Here are the fabrics I want to use. The cotton print is for the dress. The lace, which is retired table cloth, will be some kind of under dress or skirt - - not sure yet.

Step One is complete. I found a Tiny Betsy pattern on the internet and downloaded it.

She has some other cute patterns as well. I plan to buy at least 1 wardrobe style pattern, but I haven't made a choice yet.
Next, I will start pulling out fabrics.
Greyhaunt, I am glad you mentioned the papertowels. I had forgotten.

LOL, papertowels are indispensible for me and sewing. I like the cheap thin ones, they are closer to fabric.

Ugh, I had double issues last night - no papertowels and my PC decided it didn't like the printer again. I swear I have to reinstall that wireless printer at least once a month :(

I didn't think about paper towels!

MitisFeles - it's looking good so far :)
