Ooh, I'll have to check the earring/jewelry areas next time I'm out shopping. That's a great idea and I'd never have thought to look there.

I did a test run between the Sculpey III, which is $2.79 per 2 oz. and the Sculpey Bake Shop, which is $0.97 at Wal Mart. I like the way the more expensive Sculpey handles. It's stiffer and can hold more interesting shapes. The cheaper Bake Shop version seems to be tackier, softer, and harder to shape. But who can argue with 97 cents? It's great for an apple. :-)

I made a new batch of goodies today. A few squash, lemons, more bananas, a botched attempt at cabbage, and a truck load of peppers and tomatoes! I'll post pics later.

Thanks for the kind compliments!

I used to make mini polymer clay food(mostly baked goods) in 1/12 scale. Your fruit and veg look really good. I might suggest that you can use chalk pastels(if you have them) to "blush" the clay. Just dust a little on before baking(this technique is great for bread, makes it look nice and toasty).
Personally I like Fimo brand clays; sometimes(once or twice a year, I think) they go on sale at michael's and joanne's for $0.99 a block, so it may be worth keeping an eye out if you want to make a lot.

Excellent! I found some serviceware for a good price so I bought a set. We'll see how it looks in an SD hand.

Thanks, Richila.

Once all the drama is over with, I think my next series of photostories will have to be silly, happy things about food. How about a ghost pepper challenge! teehee
