First Ever DS Sew-Along!

This is such a great idea! I'm in.

Here is my idea for joining in. If you click on the picture you will see a larger version. I'm not sure how to make it show up bigger on here. The solid side will have embroidery Pumkin's an Bats on it when I am done. It will be a solid purple.

I had planned on working on the last fall outfit my girls needed to make, but with Halloween galloping at me, I'm working on my Halloween costume instead. I have one more Halloween outfit needed for my Wilder family, so I picked out these fabrics and am going to use a pattern by Racoon's Rags. I'll be making the dress on the right with the longer length and the sleeves.


Hopefully I can get it all cut out and started in between working on my costume.

kenaiqueen, it's a lovely style and fabric. It's perfect for a Halloween dress!

I never heard of using paper towels either. I usually use scraps of light weight non woven interfacing (not the iron on kind). It's soft and doesn't fray at all, and you can draw on it if need be.

So much cool project and fabrics! I'm eager to see all your progresses! (and to try the paper towels method! XD I usually use scraps of t-shirt fabric but I've run out if it...)



I finished the dress! Now I have to work on the petticoat and some underwear (Asha still lacks it T_T). I already made a little satin choker for her but I still have to make photos of it.

Welcome to the newcomers and congratulations Mitifeles for being the first to really get some sewing in there

My progress has unfortunately been slow. Pattern resizing attempt #1 I don't even need to do a muslin of because it's HUGE. I think it will fit a 60cm! Which actually means I have a fairly good idea of how much to reduce the size for pattern try #2 . Hopefully tomorrow I will actually get to cut out a muslin - though I may end up using fabric because the kitten keeps going after my paper towel rolls ><

I've stuck some kitchen towel together! The patterns are mostly OK - the corset needs a bit more length and a bit less width; and the skirt has gone from the 20 panels the pattern called for, to the 18 I guessed I'd need, to 12. I've also grabbed pics of my initial sketch and fully paper mock up

The skirt will hang better on Lysette once it's made in fabric and sewn, and not held together with bits of tape.

I'm diving back into the lovely world of Lolita! This time for Amiga. And I'm gonna pull out all the stops.
