Can I drop a question in too? This is not the first time I've heard of a 'big sister' body in relation to Monster High. How many different body sculpts (not counting minor things like scales or detailing that do not actually affect body measurements for swapping clothes and sewing) are there in Monster High?

There are 4 body types.

The boy body.

The standard girl body.

The big sister body. Somewhat longer torso, longer legs and bigger feet, it cannot share shoes. My sales post has Nefera between two shorter Cleo dolls.

The little sister body. Much shorter, more Stacie-ish height. There is a photo of this body with two normal bodied dolls in my sales post of the werewolves.

They did make a centaur and a mermaid.... But those four are the main ones.

*reads descrips* Thanks. And I saw that sales post. (And nearly cried. I won't have any money until June because it all went to the new computer desk.)

Is there a list somewhere of which characters have which bodies? Eventually I'll want to try to have one of each body type on hand, but it's hard to figure out when I'm not at all familiar with the characters (they're not really my thing... but my brain is having ideas of OOAKing them into FF9 Black Waltzes now)

Not sure if there's an official list somewhere, but it should be possible to find some reference photos on flickr.
I may be forgetting someone, but as far as I know:
Nefera de Nile, Headmistress Bloodgood, Clawdeen Wolf and Casta Fierce are on the big sister body.
Marisol Coxi has the big sister body too, but with extra large feet.
Howleen Wolf, Twyla, Lorna McNessie and River Styxx have the little sister body.

Other types of bodies not mentioned yet that might affect clothing measurements: Manny Taur (boy, more muscular with a bull head), Create-A-Monster Harpy, Inner Monster Genie tail, Wydowna Spider (six arms), Skelita Calaveras (skeleton), there's also a Create-A-Monster skeleton, and the 17-inch dolls coming out later this year (they so far include: Gooliope Jellington, Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf). There might be more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Mouscedes King is another doll with a Little Sister body, but she'll be released later this year. The mermaids Eseme mentioned are Sirena Von Boo, and a Create-A Monster mermaid. The Centaur is Avea Trotter.

You guys might want to check this site if you want MH dolls made in custom colors. There are also different and new body types and accessories:

Edit:
It looks like the removed some of their body types. The only ones they have left are the girl jointed natural torso, and the male muscular torso, and they are both currently sold out. They still have a lot of their accessory parts though, but I guess that won't help people looking for custom body colors.

Ebay has the 5 piece CAM torso pack and loose torsos, including white ghost/skeleton, as well as completed CAM ghosts and skeletons with the white torso for reasonable prices.

I only did the three female bodies and one male body with my patterns, I don't have Manny, but I have just about every regular release and CAM but not the color change ones so I can try and answer color questions. The mermaid and centaur have regular female torsos and can wear their shirts and dresses. The CAM mermaid tail fits any regular size CAM body.

Thanks a lot for the info on the body types. I now have a wishlist sorted out so I can start picking those up over the next few months (hopefully, I can wriggle the first one onto my next Amazon order in May... XD)

Oh whoops! Anderson'sAllPurpose meant Clawdia Wolf has the Big Sister body, not Clawdeen Wolf. Clawdeen has the standard MH girl body. Just letting you know because you said you're not familiar with the characters and bodies. ;)

I really want those 17 inch MH dolls. I'll probably get Draculaura for a custom I wanna make. I hope they make more characters though, because I really want a Cleo for another custom. ^^

Seeing the heights of the characters in the series, sometimes I wonder why Abbey's doll doesn't have a Big Sister body, and why Draculaura doesn't have a Little Sister body. :|
