I have long admired SetsunaKou's amazing Aurora she made for herself and finally decided to take the plunge and try one for myself. While I love Aurora in pink, I agree with SetsunaKou that she is marvelous in lavender/purple. I started with this picture I found on the net:
It is a version of Aurora apparently from the Disney video game 'Kingdom Hearts.' (Not having played it, I am only repeating what I found about it online.)
Next, I went looking for the right Tonner doll. SetsunaKou used a Renee Deveraux doll, but every single one I could find was way over my budget. However, I did find her sister, Louise at a great price and snapped her up. And promptly scalped her when she arrived LOL!
Then I contacted SetsunaKou about making an Aurora of my own. Thankfully, she took my request for the passion we share for our Princess and not a case of just trying to copy her. I commissioned her to do a faceup for my girl and as you can see in the following photos, she did a bang-up job! She also offered to make her a crown and necklace to give her that authentic look. Not only were her skills amazing, her prices were too and I am so grateful for her help in making my vision a reality. I made her outfit in two pieces, with a skirt of my own pattern and the bodice adapted from one by Designs by Jude. Fabrics are simple poly blends from JoAnne's. So here is my Dreaming Princess, my KH Aurora:
Isn't that face just amazing? She looks so dreamy to me. Thank you so much, SetsunaKou for your inspiration and all your help!
Next up...an over the top pink ballgown. (After my latest project which is an over the top Lolita dress for River.)
