Konnichiwa!

Postby Alopecia No Hime » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:02 pm

Hey my name's Storm and I don't own a doll yet. I'm planning on purchesing an Obitsu 27 cm girl after X-mas because I figure the after X-mas sales will be up plus I'll have some spending money. I've been researching and looking at other BJD's for a long time though. I will be naming and modeling my girl after my OC Haruka for my story Alopecia No Hime (hence username.) I enjoy various anime and manga's.

I'm a Vic Mignogna fangirl and proud Risembool Ranger!

I really would like some tips on Obitsu care or any thing when it comes to them. I also would appriciate some sewing tips because I suck royally at it.

(Well...When it comes to making clothes from just fabric and thread. I can sew things onto other things pretty okay. I'm good with the small stitchs.)

I'm really glad to be apart of a forum that supports all BJD's and dolls.

So yeah new girl in the forum!

Your doll would draw you up a list of outfits she wants you to sew. Don't worry about skills your doll would make sure you learn and improve along the way. *glares at her own dolls*

I can only say, start simple, and if you don't understand what the instructions says, cheat your way out.

I won't mind sewing it then. She'll whip my sewing skills into shape then.

Thanks. I'll be sure to use that advice when I attempt to make a decent shirt.

Welcome! There are all types of tips and tutorials for just about anything you want to make or do with your doll, both here and over on the Junkyspot forum. I know Kiki-chan78 has several 'care and feeding' type posts that you will probably want to check out. ^__^

Hey. Nice meeting you.

I hope you have fun with your first doll. Also, beware, because people who aren't even into the hobby will try to give you advice on what "looks good" and how you should create your doll. Just tune them out and go with your instinct and hers, since the two of you know what's best for her.

Hi. Nice to meet you too.

I know I will. And thanks. I'll trust my first instincts. I've already made her a few things.

I'm really excited to get her.

Welcome Storm,
A good place to get started sewing is the teach yourself to sew site.
