Boy clothes for Boy dolls

Postby oliveyah » Wed Oct 14, 2015 7:48 am

I'm in the process of planning and buying parts to make a 1/6 scale boy doll. I have the Pure Neemo Flection XS boy body, and I"ll be getting a blank obitsu head (most likely the petite p chan head).

I'm having the WORST time trying to find clothes for the character I have in mind! I'm looking for a red and black flannel-looking, long sleeve button up shirt.

Can anyone give me suggestions on specific sellers that sell unisex or boy 1/6 scale doll clothes? I'm pretty much combed through Ebay and Etsy.

Thank you!

I know the trouble all too well. :c I've been scouring the Internet for some good Obitsu male slim bodies for ages. One good piece of advice I did come across though is looking for other brand doll clothes to fit, or even resizing patterns to see your own. If you get your doll's bust, waist, hip, height, (and if you want to be super thorough get the leg and arm circumferences/lengths) measurements, you can look up dolls with similar measurements and buy their clothes, making any modifications needed. Actually, given the height (21 cm I think), Dal clothes might be a perfect fit. :) You can usually find some Dal stock or custom clothes on eBay. SugarLattice on Storenvy has some adorable clothes, though mostly for girls. Monster High boy clothing might fit, though the pants and sleeves would be long. Also, some people on Etsy might be willing to make you some clothing custom if you provide measurements. If you have some basic sewing and design knowledge, this is probably the easiest way to make your own custom doll patterns (and even sell pdfs of them on Etsy if you scan them): http://blog.tatiana-b.com/p/tutorials.html?m=1

I hope this helps. ^-^

Thank you! I'm kind of... awful at sewing (those tiny stitches) :-/ It's good to know that this is a common problem. If I manage to figure out a way to fashion a flannel shirt, I will report back!
