New, with a few questions.:)

Barbie, Jenny, Fashion Royalty, Obitsu and 1/6 resins - basically anything 10-12inch/21-27cm or in the neighborhood.

New, with a few questions.:)

Postby ashley » Mon Apr 25, 2016 5:53 pm

Hello!

I am new and was going to order some things from parabox, but I am having trouble deciding and need help!

The 27cm kay head, and the 27cm chara head, are there pictures anywhere of them side by side to compare how they look next to each other?

I am worried the chara head is going to be HUGE next to the kay head

Is there anywhere online that shows actual owner pictures of the 27cm obitsu prepainted heads? I really want to see more of kay, chara, and gretel27

I have been looking everywhere and cant find hardly any.

Thanks for your help!

Greetings I don't have any info on the first two heads. I do however have a gretel27 for sale in viewtopic.php?f=26&t=11655

She came with the prepainted face, I just adjusted the lips to look better. I am sadly reducing my collection to care for my irl bunnies.

Hope the picture helps at least and good luck!

welcome!

Michi (left) has the Chara head with paint A on the 27cm male body, and Hana (right) has the Kay head with paint A on the 27 female body. All white skin.

And Ryo (in the front) has the Kay head with paint B on a 23cm body

Please excuse the dust on the shelf - I'm in the middle of sorting that area out!

Thank you so much for your responses! I wasn't sure I would get any to be honest! I looked a long time to find any sort of group or anything that had to do with these dolls.:)

So I placed my initial order, and it already came and I was so happy with them I placed a second order tonight!

I ordered kind of a bunch..I probably went a little over board but whatevs!

So now I have a couple of new questions. I got all soft body type bodies. I read the directions and when it says "hold up the neck portion" does it really mean push down the soft part of the body to expose the neck piece?

The other question I have is, do you need to modify the neck at all for Kay,Petite Hime, or Chara?

So far all I have in the house is Kay, and her head does fit on the peg that's already installed on the body. But its a bit wobbly. I almost feel like the skinny tiny part of the neck peg(its a tiny space at the bottom of the hard neck peg between the top of the hard neck peg and the soft body) should be what the inside of her head hole should be resting on. But the hole her neck has has a long shaft that pretty much encompasses most of the neck peg. Is this right?? Its fine if it is, I just want to make sure I am doing it correctly, I don't want to hurt anything by having it on wrong..LOL

Thank you both so much for your help!:)

I can't help you with the soft bodies - I've only got the hard bodies.

I didn't need to modify the necks for any of them, although if I keep the Chara head on the male body I might sand the top of the neck a little to see if the head will sit a little further down - he's a bit giraffe-y at the moment!

The neck has a post coming out of it which sits in the peg inside the head. I generally find it easier to get the heads on (and the eyes in) with the aid of a hairdryer - put it on a low setting, warm the head up a bit so it's easily squished, then put the head on the neck. It won't hurt the doll, and will make things a lot easier.

I can't remember which of the posts I used in the Kay head - it wasn't the cylinder one but one of the tapered ones - here's a pic - it's on the 27cm female hard body. I also can't remember now if I put the peg in first and pushed the head on - going on how it looks I think I must have done!

As far as the excess endplay on the neck to head parabox has a free washer for those anime and fairy heads to tighten up the looseness.
silicon washer
for Parabox Petite head
when you use the 25cm body

Thanks for your help guys!:) So its normal for there to be a lip of access vinyl on the inside of the neck hole? Like the head hole has all that access vinyl creating sort of a shaft that the neck peg just sits in?
Like in the picture above?

I never new of the washer, and they didn't send me any with my first order?

When putting most heads on the newer bodies it is best to unscrew the fastener and stick the head on and then screw the peg back in carefully. It normally shouldn't have a weird amount of excess material by the peg. Just make sure to use the correct neck fastener with the head that is provided in the mini bags with a new body.

Here's an inside pic of the gretel 27 I have on softbust body.

It should look something like this, hopefully once assembled. I also show the option attachment and washer parts for reference.

Hope this helps!
