Curvy Girls plus size dolls

Postby Stormlight » Sat Jun 08, 2019 6:24 am

Has anyone heard of these? It’s a Kickstarter project. They look really interesting. Cute sculpts, too. I’m not quite sure how tall they are as I couldn’t find any size info but I’m guessing they’re around Barbie height.

The one thing that’s giving me pause is their shipping. Up to $300 international? That sounds highly unlikely. I’ve never heard of anyone paying that much to ship dolls. Unless they’re using some courier service that charges through the nose. But it makes me wonder how much they’ll charge to ship within the US (I’m assuming they’re based in America).

Here are the spec.

11 inches tall (while flat-footed. Doll goes up to the same height as Barbie when wearing heels)
1:6 scale (so yes, they can share the dream house!)
Plus size proportions (U.S. Size 18/20)
Plastic body, vinyl head, rooted Saran hair, fully removable and interchangeable clothing & accessories.
Fully articulated body meaning she will have joints at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. And full head movement.

I wonder what the price will be for these if they come out?

Looks like they had three sets. Basic non-customized for $25. Basically a blank doll.

Then a basic set with one outfit for I think $40.

And a premium set with extra outfits for $60.

I think they plan to release extra outfits for them as well.

I started to go through the backing process and I would have been charged $25 for shipping to the UK, which seems OK. Only reason I didn't back was Kickstarter being a pain and not letting me log in.
