60. Bat Baby

Image

Because who doesn't love an adorable little bat? He's got flappy wings and the plush is so soft. This is actually a TY Beanie Buddy - so a larger plush based off the mini beanie babies. This is Bat-E an online Halloween exclusive back in the, apparently. The things you learn via Google.

61. Mattel vs Character Options

Image

So, two 1/6th (roughly) versions of the Thirteenth Doctor, so I thought I would do a quick comparison of them. Obvious differences are height and width.  The Mattel offering has slightly darker colours in her trousers and top. The Character Options version has more articulation.

Honestly, I don't think I could advise one above the other as it would depend entirely on what a person wanted from a Thirteenth Doctor figure. However, the Character Options version is cheaper, which may be a deciding factor for many.

I always like more articulation. And cheaper is definitely a good thing! lol

I have to agree - more articulation is never a bad thing. Cheaper is also always a good thing.

62. Sewing: New Dungarees

Image

Did a bit of sewing lately! Made these dungarees for Hayley. I really should have added a pocket or something to them, but eh, for what they are they're not bad. Importantly, she can sit down in them which is always a bonus.

Unless you get overwhelmed by it and wind up hiding from the doll like a certain nerd I know.

I tried linking one of my adopted click pets here, but the board wouldn't let me. :/

... So you just need just enough articulation and not too much?

63. Sewing: New Top

Image

Found that a pair of SnapStars shorts fitted Ademetus perfectly, so I went about trying to make him a little top as well. Admittedly? It's not the best I could have done - it would work better as a little waistcoat than a top. But hey, different outfit for him now.

Hayley and Ademetus both look adorable in their outfits! I love the dungarees and shirt Hayley is wearing. And you did a better job sewing than I ever would. I really need to get some patterns and test my skill at hand-sewing. Maybe something little, like new clothes for my Wing. He’s been in the same outfit since I bought him, poor guy.

Pretty much. Took me years to get to where I was able to play with my 60cm Obitsu, though I never had trouble with the smaller ones.

Thank you!

The best quick way to practice your sewing would be two pieces of matching fabric. Hem each piece seperately at the bottom, sew the two sides together - leaving space for arms - and a small line of stitches along the top leaving sace for head/legs (depending on which way you slide it on to doll). It's ... a really simple dress/top, but it's a good way to practice hand-sewing.

Could the size of it also have been putting you off? I know I was pretty thrown by just how big 60cm was when I got my Olivia...

64. Time Bear

Who ever expected the BBC to team up with Build-A-Bear to produce Doctor Who merch? Not me, that's for sure. That being said, this Time Bear is adorable!

Yeah, that was part of it too. And I'm her third owner, at least. She was a body used for a fancier head, and then given to me when she got a bit wobbly. And the soft body. All challenging to somebody with sensory issues. But I'm finally used to her, and even her legs sweating because it got too hot in here didn't chase me away. I just gave her a careful bath and set her in a cooler place.
