DollyKim, Patti is 36 inches (91cm). Jill is 48 inches (122cm). I have 15 inches (38cm) over Jill when I'm not wearing shoes. She's not very heavy for the size (22lbs/11 kilos) and came with a nice stand. I put my Patti dolls in Kaiser 5001 stands since I liked her in one so much so they all can stand beside me at the computer in the family room.
I have a reborn toddler I rehabbed myself, an unfinished 9mo sized kit that needs to go to an artist (someday) and a newborn, called Real Born Ashley Awake by Bountiful Baby, that has already been painted, I've not assembled. I just haven't found the right outfit or gender for that baby yet.

kenaiqueen, yes, they are loads of fun. When I was 7 years old, my surrogate Grandma gifted me a Jesmar lookalike. That's one of the full scale, anatomically correct newborn baby dolls that were sold in tabloid adverts and on home shopping shows in the 1980s. Her name was Maria. I carried her everywhere with me for years and years. Maria was eventually taken from me, along with all the other dolls my mom and her husband could find. I suppose that didn't sit well with me then, any better than it does now. I've found one just like her after having purchased over a dozen similar dolls from eBay, so it's just like having her back!

Patti Playpal dolls wear 24moth and 2T sized clothes. Size 6 shoes. Wigs are 19/20 but I hope to restore some of the plugs for my little blonde Patti so they will not need wigs. Jill wears 4/5T with stretch knits, and with woven fabric garments I've found some 4T dresses up to size 6 will fit. I generally try to look for size 5/5T. I bought her a package of of undies in size 4 to make sure they don't drop down since her vinyl is a bit slick. Shoes are sizes 11 or 12. I've just resorted to carrying a tape measure with me to pick out some of the clothes to find the best fit. Her wig size is 19/20, the same as Patti Playpal. Masterpiece wigs are normally glued on, but Jill's was already loose when she came home.

Yeah.... some folks can certainly be off-put by full-scale dolls. I think it's often due to common human subconscious psychology and the discord between the dolls looking just real enough but not being actually alive, likely triggering some instinctual drive to avoid danger. I suppose what has been dubbed 'the uncanny valley'. Personally, the most off-putting experiences I've ever had in my life were due to human behavior and with dolls, there is none of that.

I'm incredibly lucky. My Mister is fine with my dolls. He's also a green-eyed blond that was a chubby child. He thinks Jill looks a lot like himself as a child. She has a crooked smile like me.

Kirahfaye, Thank you so much! I agree. They certainly add a new dimension of variety to my collection of dolls. I too hope everyone gets better too. It can't rain all the time.

I did a reborn baby once but I'm not up to snuff for doing it for other people. It's the sculpt that looks like Diane Arbus picture of baby Anderson Cooper. Found another sizable Berenguer in my travels and I have plans to do both as non humans when I can get back to doll making.

I can't say if I'd have a life sized doll around or not right now because I barely have room for the mostly Barbie sized ones I already have.

I would like to see your reborn baby! I understand about doing it yourself. I'm glad I rehabbed one. It's a lot different than working on the resin I'm used to.

I did it with the same acrylic paint and sealer I use on my other dolls. Don't even know if it can get wet. The onesie is newborn size.

Oh, wow! That baby looks really good. I think you have really great skills and could definitely do baby doll painting for others if you choose to do so. He's super cute! Aren't the human sized dolls so much fun to dress?

Thanks :) That's the only outfit the baby has. I did it to see if I could do one. I'm wanting to do a fantasy baby and I'd part with this one if I could find a blank replacement. Wouldn't have to be the same sculpt but definitely a full limbed Berenguer.

When it comes to carrying a doll around I prefer the company of one of my balljoints or one of the 1/6 crowd in a tote. I'm not a baby or child person, even in doll form.

There's a commercial for a local attorney who is discussing a settlement with a (actor) client. The client is holding a baby that I swear looks just like a Reborn - until the last shot when they are standing up and the baby is flailing it's free arm around. LOL.

It probably is a Reborn that's been given an internal skeleton and wired to move. There's tons of those available at "Rent a special effect" houses now.

Quite possible - I wouldn't put it past that particular lawyer, either. Too many rules and regulations about filming with infants.

Having been on set as a kid and adult, and a couple of times with babies, whenever you don't need a real kid it's better. Or if they do they usually use multiples.

Fun fact, if it's a newborn covered in goo they often use jam so the worst that happens is the baby eats some.
