New circus, New Monkees

This session I'll finish Teddy, Goff Barbie, and Duckie along with the New Monkees. All the others are up in the air.

Everyone at this stage is made from what ever air dry clay I happen to have, paper, gesso, modeling paste, and any spiders that get trapped in there.

Duckie and Teddy want to get finished, Goff Barbie (upside down) is being more of a diva...

I'm using Sergeant Art Sculpt It which is surprisingly tough when dry. When wet it's kind of marshmallowy, like Premiere, but "cheaper" and doesn't quite blend as well. Still good for building up and base layers.

This trio is left over from the previous session Martin and company came out of. None of us are feeling each other much. Will see what comes of them later. They are salvageable with some touch ups but if you make dolls you know how it gets some times.

Current focus is on a new quad squad.

Nightmare stage.

This is air dry clay so attempting to kill them with fire will only harden them.

The "what am I even doing" stage :/

Teddy and Duckie might be salvageable but this Goff Barbie might get melted with the hose. Another Goff Barbie will be made up with the rest of The Cure.

At the five minutes of work and waiting overnight for them to dry stage. It'll be combinations of dry work, carving and some sanding, and wet work from here on out.

There was a New Monkees sketch called Portholes of Progress that was so bad it almost made them quit. When your TV show is being produced by a sentient bag of white powder it takes a lot to push you over the edge. The only line remembered is the one about omelets and breaking eggs.

The Sergeant Sculpt It was doing great, I was really liking the surface it had when it dried, then it showed its true cracks. The guys weren't quite pulling themselves together anyway so I'm going to try again.

back to using Prang Das, Creative Paperclay's grainy cousin. I know how it behaves and what to expect from it. Would definitely recommend it for most anything, have made finished projects from it.
