The place for those OT discussions that you just HAVE to share in a doll themed forum.

Hmm. Actually the doll that is within my price range if I didn't balk so hard about the price, and if we weren't on a strict budget (no dolliehs unless I have enough ebay money for them) is the Pipos Baha or Pipos fox (Rooney?)

Also when they start selling them again, I really want one of those pet dolls that actually is a cat and not an anthropomorphized cat.

For me sadly it is elfdoll June (with wysteria face up version, however june would be fine too)
I was in awe after seeing Wysteria and have been ever since I adore her.

#2 for me was Shadow Onyx

Being a mother of 3 soon to be 4 both dolls are way out of my price range.

I'm with you, VV, on the budget and Ebay sales thing . . . I hate that I have to sell for such loss on Ebay though. I'm actually involved in my first consignment sale that's coming up at a local church later this month. With any luck I can make some extra dolly money there. I WANT AoD Qian! *whimper*

I was doing the whole ebay selling thing when I was in Florida, made enough money selling my deceased fathers old lps, some of my older maternity clothes, and an old prom gown to buy each of my kids the tiny of their choice.
but now in a new country and mailing fee's being soooo high here I just look for insane deals and buy those i got a sd body i had been needing for some time for a minimee head i have had since last june. paid over $60 in customs and mailing fee's in addition to the ebays sellers shipping fee's as customs deamed my sd body as a manaquin. /sigh
i was also making doll clothes, and other items and selling them did rather well for some time but shipping was cheaper then ^^

AmberRose, you ought to start looking into car boot sales (what we call flea markets) and thrift shops over there. You can find things in Europe you just cannot get here. Vintage lace and trim, and vintage lace curtains, steel cut beads, all manner of things that don't rank as "antique" there that DO here. It doesn't take a lot to make something for a doll, and you can scavenge it off otherwise hopeless clothing. You might also ask people what they are looking for and go hunting for it, and charge a commission fee plus cost.

i am from florida, been here like 5 months, costa rica in the central valley really isn't like you might think.
People don't sew, like at all they think it's odd to even mend stuff the only fabric stores are for interior design firms, no thread, sewing needles, notions, trims, consignment shops, it rips , or tears they toss it and buy new.
The only markets (like flee markets) are for food only.
The art fair is only once or twice a year, only custom stuff is "hand made barbie clothes) $1 or less very basic.
they don't sell packs of doll clothes here you just buy a new doll. There are no addresses mailman does not come.
you pay for a mailing service and get a mail to ask descriptions when something is coming in.
the unique items are like not around here, we have guess, converse, department stores like 7 businesses owned by wal-mart, skechers, dockers, and tommy, costo, apple, sony stores etc. bilingual book stores, resturants everywhere, lots of grocery stores similier to whole foods, nothing even close to a joanns, or a michaels, or any quant little things you might think anywhere close to where i live. and we don't have a car yet. plus i am almost 6 months along on child #4 so i don't have alot of free time to do that stuff anymore.

Lilac Ariel.
That's first on my list.
But what I really want the most is more free time to play with the dolls I already own.

I'm with you, cirquemom -- I need more time to play with the dolliehs I have!

I've been eying the Dream Realm guys and the new 65cm Dollzone boys... but I also have floating heads who keep looking at me reproachfully for not thinking of THEIR needs first. (which is also one of the reasons I'm looking at the DZ 65cm boys... I'm just reluctant to pay for a fullset when what I really want is the body...)

My last "dream doll" is on order and will get here... eventually... a Unidoll Ark. (I like the bad boys....)
