Natasha will probably be my choice if I get a RH.

I put Natasha's dress on Margot/Opal.

Target has some of the dolls for sale, some up to half off if you are ordering online. I had a gift card to use up, so I ordered the Winter Break Violet at $18 and change. Was very tempted by the big sized Amaya at $35, but passed.

Had more of the card to use up and wanted to get the free ship so I also ordered some Zuru 5 Surprise Disney toys.

Amaya is indeed tempting, but - are there any addition clothes and shoes for the big dolls?

The large Amaya was a one time thing, they haven't made any others in that scale, and haven't made any additional fashions for her either.

Thanks, Jobee. We are going grocery shopping today so I suggested Target's. My (adult) daughter is a doll and plushy fan, too, so she won't mind checking out their toy section. LOL

Amaya is a pretty close match in size to BJDs. You could probably put her in 1/3 scale clothes pretty easily. I bought her and it’s amazing how huge she is compared to the standard models. I’d love if they’d release another big one like that, maybe a Shadow High version.

I found a Natasha at Target and as she's the only one I've seen in person recently, I grabbed her up (plus she was less than at Walmart). I know I saw a post somewhere (not sure it was here) with instructions on washing their hair to get rid of the stuck together clumps. Her hair isn't terrible, but any suggestions?

In regard to RH doll hair washing, I just use a mild liquid hand soap and rinse well and then comb out, spreading it out well on a towel to dry. For my Natasha, I didn't even take her ponytail out to wash. I don't care about keeping in the curl usually, so if that's an issue, you may have to do a boil perm.

My Violet Willow Winter Break came today and it's a good thing I don't care about boxes. It was a bit messed up with a big slash in the plastic over the skis. However, her hair is a mess. I've never gotten a new doll from the box that had such a snarly, matted mess. She was still all stapled in so I'm quite sure she was not used. I have her drying on a towel in the bathroom now.

Dang! :o

I thought about getting Violet Willow at my Target because of the sale price, but once I saw Natasha (in a completely different aisle) I had to have her. I might use my doll wig comb to see if I can get out some of the glue in her hair. There's not much and I don't want to lose the curl. The idea of boiling saran hair scare me some. Somehow I don't think they use the good stuff on these dolls. LOL

BTW, my thoughts on Rainbow High so far: Their boxing sucks because I had to rip it apart and use scissors way too close to the doll body for comfort. There was no saving it at all. As for the doll, I really like the articulation and jointing. Oh, it's not "that other forum's" definition of a ball joined doll, as we all know, but it's a very well jointed one. I also appreciated the attention to detail. Natasha is the white/gray doll which is a lovely color. Her eyes are stunning. She has pale rosy cheeks, nice lashes (both "real" uppers and painted lowers), there's a brush stroke of silver glitter on her lids and her well defined hand and fingers have the cutest little white polished "claw" nails. I didn't look at her feet before I put them in those tight, hard to get into boots. Even her upper lip is slightly darker than her lower for contrast. Now if she only had pointy ears.... I'd be over the moon! LOL Also, while it was really hard to get her second outfit free from the card it was on, both outfits are very cute and well made. I just wish there was as much effort put into her jewelry. Over all, I'm really pleased with her. I'm not sure I'll get another unless they come out with more versions than I've seen on the official website.
