The Rainbow Bridge

Postby Kirahfaye » Sun May 12, 2024 1:26 pm

Monday afternoon we are going to walk Tucker to the edge of the rainbow bridge. His mental and physical health is at a point where it is more selfish of us to hold him here than let him go.

So we will hold him, and cry, and love on him, and cry. He will leave this world and enter into the next knowing he was loved beyond measure. And yes, he will have a piece of chocolate before he goes.

We will also be helping our other dog, Maddie, deal with the second biggest change in her life.

Thoughts, prayers, virtual hugs.... they would all be appreciated over the next few days or so. This is going to be a rough one.

My pup (with a partial explanation as to why we made this decision - the tumor is back, is the size of a CA avocado and is inoperable):

Condolences. Last best thing you can do for a friend. Letting go is so hard tho, I know. Big virtual hug to you all.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I tried linking one of my adopted click pets here, but the board wouldn't let me. :/

Losing a pet is never easy, and knowing when to let them go peacefully and end their suffering is even harder, but it speaks a lot to how much you love him. You realized that making him stay with you, no matter how much you don't want to lose him, while he's sick and suffering was selfish and don't want him to have to hurt anymore. Sending you lots of hugs.
