2011 doll news

Postby DollyKim » Fri Dec 31, 2010 9:05 am

TIme enough to start.

Saw a pink and purple 2 toned wig for the Liv, a turquoise party dress, and signs of more clothes coming. No sign of the boy yet outside of his outfit but that's promising.

If you missed the TRU exclusive you can get drums, scooters, and other after school pieces separate from the dolls at other places where Liv are sold.

Speaking of Target they are having a sale on the Closetmaid cloth bins/drawers like I have my doll stuff in and they make the pink and blue drawers again among lots of other colors. This week white shelving units to hold them are on sale, next week/year a different color. Point being this is a nice colorful way to keep your dolls. 2011 finds will hopefully be about storing and keeping your hoard neat and tidy.

I keep my fabric in clear tubs grouped by type/print. Smaller pieces like fat quarters are grouped in ziplock bags. Just grab a bag and know everything in there goes together :) For now the sewing and craft stuff I spend the most time with are in cheap cabinets but I'm not entirely happy with them.

I didn't really have a place for the pink shelf but I couldn't not get it either. I found the drawers at Home Depot for $1.50 each and couldn't say no. I almost went with a white shelf but when I got the money together pink was on sale. It adds a bit of color because we're not allowed to paint the walls. There are other options like plastic drawers but cheap ones don't work for fabric or doll accessories because they bow. There are longer bins with lids made for kids that are nice too. My local 99 Cent store had some funky color funky size bins show up.

No sign of Jake on my end.
1st resolution for 2011 I will certainly stick with, DO NOT LIVE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF ANYONE WITH A TOY SECTION! But thanks to those who bought Just For Us #1 pattern books the little Monsters are starting to pay for themselves. Didn't want another but Frankie is the one I wanted in the first place found her and all four scream uniforms. Looks like a few people are lacking in the extracurricular activities. Won't get started on who plays soccer in heels. They'll have to try them on later.

This is all four, cute accessories, funky shoes.

The outfits were just under $8 each at Wal-Mart.

I think some of my getting stuff before others has to do with where I live, they'll let some things out in certain markets first to see how they sell. And my market has every fooking box store within a few blocks of each other. And we've been house hunting so when we need a break we stop at a box store to stretch our legs. I gravitate to the doll aisles looking for that Liv boy and anything else that would need to be doll blogged.
